Year round fun spot to get back to nature and enjoy staying high up the the mountains. Fall leaves and new lift serviced mountain biking with awesome bike trails of all levels. See online videos that feature incredible views and terrain and even a huge paper airplane larger than a car.
Additional five hotel rooms can sleep 14 guests are right downstairs if your group needs more space.

Timberline lodge and Powder Keg Bar offer cool like music, gourmet resort cuisine, ski rentals and guided adventures a handful of steps away. Don’t be surprised when the guests dance on the tables…it is a tradition!
Take advantage of our expertize as you plan your ski trip. Your host, Jamie has been at Powder Mountain for over fifty years. She grew up here and their family built and operated Powder Mountain for over thirty years. Her great grandpa ran sheep and cattle on the land, her grandpa began the resort assisted by her parents and aunts and her sons assist in the operation of the Inn making it the fifth generation of the Powder Mountain Cobabe family insuring your best ski vacation ever.

Unit has everything you need to enjoy time with your loved ones. From cork screws to snowshoes. We even provide pmenty of split firewood for your real wood fireplace. Additionally there is a laundry room downstairs with two washers and two dryers that you may use and detergent is available to use.

Optional guide service, grocery and liquor delivery for a hassle free relaxing trip for all. In the past we have even provided In-Room chef for guests with food sensitivities. Gluten free options available.

Rolling into town late and want to just chill out and sip a glass of wine as you sit by the fire on your arrival night? No problem. We can have your wine chilled and groceries put away in your condo upon your arrival. We will even setup the fire. Make arrangements with Jamie a few days prior to tour stay.

Don’t want to cook? There is on mountain pizza open at night or ten minutes away in Eden are a handful of options and half an hour away in Ogden there’s around a hundred dining options.

Interested in learning more about the local area? Jamie, your host is a travel and tourism expert who grew up in the ski industry and is a hospitality expert for the region.

500 inches is annual snowfall at Powder Mountain. Dry fluffy powder and a lot of it. So bring your fat skis. Columbine Inn is located at 8250 elevation. Small infants are discouraged due to potential risks from low oxygen. Check if you have questions.

Ski school is just down the street a fourth of a mile. There is a shuttle bus that can access or just run kids down in your car. Skiing down to the ski school isn’t advised because the trail to go there is not great for beginners. If you want to ski back from ski school and Sundown Lift it is a breeze for skiers on the Slow Poke cat track run. Snowboarders find it a little flat and sometimes have to Unclip and skate some. Even at night while Slowpoke isn’t totally lighted up you can usually see good enough to ski back to the rooms from the night skiing area.

Powder Country is the best way to discover the side country skiing and it is serviced by the Powder Mountain shuttle that stops on the Powder Mountain road state highway 158 at about halfway up to collect skiers who have permagrin. Guides are great to explore that area with at first because you can get lost. Expect to pay around 150-200 for a guide for the day and it is well worth it since your are at the largest resort in the US. It is laid out differently than most and your can even park at the top of the resort. The Sundown area that you see as you come to the main parking area is about 10-15 percent of the terrain. Most of it lies beyond the main parking area and your can’t see the lift from where you start to ski at Timberline area. Just clip in next to the ski shop and yurt and download the Powder Mountain app for a great map and track your skiing with its tools. You can also order food and lessons in the app.

We are willing to draft a note for your boss to say you are snowed in if you need one. Just wear sunscreen so your raccoon eyes don’t blow it for you.

The nightlife is dull at Powder Mountain but if you want to find some in Ogden there is a great place to start on 25th street. It is the historic district of Ogden which was an old railroad town and has a colorful history. Like Bourbon Street but Utah style. Antiques and shops are joined by bars and restaurants for the four block walking district between wall ave and Washington Blvd on 2500 south in Ogden.

Nearby will be the perfect kids spot for fun-Solomon Center. Arcade, bowling, movies, climbing, surfing, and indoor skydiving. Epic adventure all will enjoy. Good food there, too! While in this area hit Recreation Outlet a favorite sporting gear shop and don’t forget to go to the basement where good deals are! Across Washington from the Solomon Center. This spot is thirty minutes from condo.

Call Jamie for directions on anything you need to make it special for you. Birthday cakes, Champaign and flowers, catered meals , she can help you out.

Buy tickets ahead. Five packs are on sale preseason. Redeem for the days you will ski. Consider a day at nearby Snowbasin. Rental cars are recommended and go for the four wheel drive option. If you need a shuttle we suggest Black Diamond for excellent service to PowMow.

We will see your soon. And most likely for every ski trip you make from here on out. Nothing else compares to skiing at Powmow!

Think snow!

The Columbine Inn is owned by the iconic Cobabe Family. Powder Mountain was built by the Cobabes and they operated the resort for over 30 years. Doctor Cobabe had aquired the proeprty from his fater and purchased additional to make ti the largest ski area in America. The Doctor was known for saying 'You're only a stranger once at Powder Mountain and then you are part of the family" and that is the philosophy that his daughter Aleta Cobabe and granddaughter Jamie Lythgoe still operate under to this day as they run the Slopeside Inn. Loyal guests come from all parts of the world to enjoy the incredible snow.

Why they chose this property

This is the best spot at Powder for ease of location. It is easy to drive to and easy to ski in and out from. The Columbine Inn features two condos and five hotel rooms and is a snowballs throw away from the main ticket booth at Timberline Lodge. It is a cozy and comfortable place where you will feel right at home and be able to relax and enjoy time in the mountains. It is a very affordable ski property to stay at compared to most resorts. It is a visit to the way skiing used to be.

What makes this property unique

Located close to the main resort area and at an elevation of 8250 feet above sea level--not recommended for tiny infants or those who suffer from altitude sickness. Cool fresh mountain air--beautiful wildflowers in summer and incredible fall leaves. World class mountain biking in the warm season. Minutes to world class golf at Wolf Creek Resort only 5 miles away.
