About this property

Room 4- Twin Gables of Woodstock

Our room with two twin beds is perfect for children or two traveling friends to share. Bright, retro colors decorate the space that houses 2 twin canopy beds, and a reading chair. Serviced by spacious shared, but private, hall baths.
Twin Gables was established as a Boutique Hotel in 1926, when artists Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Daibler purchased the 19th-century house at the height of Woodstock's first flowering as a center for creative people. It was an unprecedented time in Woodstock’s history— the beginning of the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony, which served as a Utopian artists’ community, attracting free-spirits and bohemians from around the world.

This charming Hotel has an established reputation as one of the most favored places to stay in Woodstock for nearly a century. Renowned for its relaxed, friendly atmosphere and charming ambiance, this Catskill Mountains’ inn, set in the stunning Hudson Valley, is in walking distance to most shops, galleries and restaurants of the Woodstock village.

All rooms, as well as the common parlor area for sitting and relaxing, are decorated with period furnishings and boast original art work from local and global artists. And, for the modern convenience of its guests, WiFi is available throughout the accommodations for those traveling with their mobile devices. Organic coffee, tea, and filtered water is available at all times at the coffee & tea station located off the parlor.

Twin Gables is devoted to minimizing its ecological footprint on the planet. Our amenities – soaps, shampoos, hair conditioners -- are completely natural, environmentally friendly and biodegradable – including the bottles themselves! We also minimize our water use and only use top-of-the-line natural cleaning products.

Visitors come from all over the world to explore this “most famous little town in the world” to experience its arts scene, enjoy its restaurants, attend events, and enjoy its charm and tranquility. And a stay at Twin Gables, the oldest guesthouse in Woodstock, is an integral and gratifying part of that experience.

Unique hotel with something to find around every corner!
We had a wonderful stay! Each room held a story, which was fun to discover. The added amenities of the screened in gazebo, backyard fire pit (where we met other guests) were a nice touch. The hotel itself is really special, but the location makes it top notch. It was so nice to have free parking and just walk everywhere.

Will definitely be back!
Twin Gables was one of the cutest B&B's I have stayed in and the staff was so welcoming and friendly. I was looking for a little creative hippie getaway and that's exactly what I got! Twin Gables is also right in the heart of town so once you're there everywhere is walking distance. Highly Suggest!

Would Absolutely Recommend!
My friend and I stayed in the Retro Kingston. It was a perfect size and super cute and clean. I was nervous about the shared bathrooms but it was totally fine! The staff was so helpful and friendly and the complimentary breakfast was great. The hotel is centrally located and everything in the town is within walking distance.

Great vibe
My friend and I came for the long weekend. It was too bad that the weather was cold and rainy, but we still got to enjoy our Woodstock visit including spending time inside our Twin Gables room. The hotel has a fun and beautiful design. I'm not a fan of sharing bathrooms at hotels, but it was totally fine here! I never needed to wait to use any of the bathrooms. Leanne (I believe she is the manager) was lovely as well! A welcoming experience.

We discovered Twin Gables in January 2019 after visiting Woodstock several times.

Travis is a hotelier and Azie is an artist + designer, so it was the perfect fit for our family! We fell in love with the old charmer and made it our mission to revive and respect the historic home so its legacy would live on.

We've created an experiential stay at Twin Gables and hope you take a moment to breathe it in. We would love to hear about your stay! Please contact us anytime to offer feedback or book the house for your event.
