Falls room in Historic Shaffner Inn

The Falls room, with a Queen Victorian theme, is a spacious size and is situated on the second floor. It offers an abundance of natural light and abounds in rich elegance. It is the original master suite, and contains a comfortable king-size bed, as well as two plaid, wingback chairs for lounging and a desk if work needs to be done. The en-suite bath features a tub/shower combination. As with every room at our inn, Falls is unique from furnishings to color palette, including the beautiful red fireplace (non-operational) with original tile and cover from the early 1900s. This room can become a two-room suite when joined with the Tanglewood room, if you are traveling with family or friends.

Built in 1907 as the private residence of Henry Fries Shaffner, the co-founder of Wachovia Loan and Trust, this extravagant Victorian-style mansion boasts Tiger oak hand-carved paneling, original coal-burning fireplaces, a grand staircase and priceless antiques. It is perfect for quiet nights away or corporate and private events. Located in downtown Winston-Salem, it is walking-distance to a multitude of the city's best restaurants, bars and shops.

The Shaffner has retained historic charm while expanding to include modern amenities such as free WiFi, 43" smart, flat-screen TVs, alarm/clock and USB charging stations. For your convenience, we also provide complimentary face wash, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, as well as an iron, ironing board, and hairdryer. In addition, you will have access to comfortable common areas indoors and outdoors, as well as a private parking lot.
