This is one of the city's major African American neighborhoods, and a major focal point for Second Line and Mardi Gras Indian culture. Heroes of the Civil Rights movement fought their battles for social justice in these streets, and today, Central City serves as another sort of staging ground: a jumping off point for revitalization of urban blight. Up-and-coming Central City is a working class area known for its Mardi Gras parades and unpretentious Cajun eateries. Normal check-in time is 4pm on the arrival date. For check-in's from 1pm - 4:00pm, it's an extra $50 to have an extra cleaner assist with servicing the property. Check-in before 1pm would require booking the previous night at a much-discounted rate. Contact host for details.
