Terrible Experience with the Property Owner but liked the room
The room itself was great but dealing with the property manager was a nightmare. She was cold through texts, did not answer messages and phone calls half the time (I stayed for three weeks so I needed to touch base on a occasion), and after my stay, she accused me of ruining her entire countertop when there was one tiny mark. There was indeed a mark on the counter because I couldn't find the hot pads when cooking. I used coasters instead in an effort to treat the place as best as possible rather than putting the pot directly on the counter. Importantly, the countertop is marbled so I didn’t even see the tiny brown spot amongst the pattern – also tells you how small the spot was. I know because after I left, she texted me a photo. Without much further communication, she sent me a 4000 charge. I went through VRBO customer service and they waved the charge because the claim was unfounded and ridiculous. I have rented out many places before for travels and have never had any issues. My family runs an VRBO so I know what is expected of guests. I treat places with respect and do my best to leave the place better than I found it. I did leave a small mark on Angela’s countertop which I didn't even realize was there before I left, but her claiming she has to redo her entire countertop, trying to justify a 4000 charge is manipulative and wrong. This was a terrible experience dealing with Angela and I would not rent from her again.
