Perfect Traditional Home for the Ultimate Kyoto Experience

We stayed at 5 properties during our 2.5 week trip through Japan and overall, we loved this location the best. It's old world charm is sure to delight everyone. Location-wise, it's conveniently a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest station, Marutamachi Station, Kyoto National Garden, Nijo Castle, etc. We enjoyed the walkable convenience immensely. Keyless entry code made it convenient for our group to come and go as we pleased without worry of passing a key around. Definitely make time to enjoy the outdoor soaking tub. It's worth it after a long day of walking all about Kyoto. So is the sitting garden. Note, there are lots of steps up and down the various levels of the home so it's not for those with mobility issues. The stairs to the upper floors are pretty narrow so carrying large suitcases might be a challenge. TALL PEOPLE BEWARE! I bumped my head so many times about the property. I'd still stay here again despite the scars. Don't miss the second shower hidden upstairs. It was so nice to have a second shower (as tiny as it was) when you have a big group. All the other homes we booked -- despite some advertising 2.5 baths -- only had one shower/bath (apparently 2 half baths/bidets = 1 to some property renters in Japan). All the homes we rented had a washer/dryer unit. It was an added bonus that we didn't think much of when booking, but took full advantage of during our trip. Overall, this property created wonderful memories for my family. Thank you!

Lovely, traditional accommodation

This property was beautiful! The location was great and the outdoor tub was so nice. There were a lot of uneven flooring which was a bit tricky to navigate with our 1.5 year old!! But we managed and everyone was safe and happy.
