About this property

Sojourn at the Cove: Nature escape opposite Heros Beach. Gym, billiards & SUPs

Sojourn at the Cove is the perfect nature escape to dwell for a short time in a beautiful place. Recently transformed with an architectural renovation, this Scandi-inspired 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom + laundry home, with a large games room including a full size billiard table and gym, is ideal for discerning guests looking for stylish comfort and entertainment.
We welcome couples, friends and families, up to 6 people.

MARCH, APRIL, MAY 2023 WE HAVE APPLIED A 40% MID-WEEK DISCOUNT & 20% WEEKEND DISCOUNT due to a house building across the road with builders possibly onsite weekdays only.

The 3 bedrooms all have large windows and built-in mirrored wardrobes, one with a King bed and the others with Queen beds. Quality designer bed linen and bath towels are provided for each guest. Reverse cycle air conditioning/heating unit in the open planned living space, and fans in every room. In the cooler months, enjoy the extra warmth in bed from the Sherpa wool and fleece blankets.

We want you to feel at home on your sojourn, so we have a fully stocked kitchen with pantry essentials, and high-quality cookware (including a pressure/slow cooker & air fryer) for you to enjoy meals with water views on either the indoor or outdoor dining tables.

For your entertainment, we share our streaming services (Netflix, Disney+, Prime, Stan, Apple TV) on the 65-inch floating TV, or you can entertain yourselves playing boardgames (Monopoly, Cluedo, Scrabble), cards (2 decks + UNO), jumbling tower, or mindful colouring.
For the more active guests enjoy our gym (X-trainer, weights bench, excercise equipment), and for the more competitive guests we have a full-size billiard table and darts.

Located on a beautiful peninsular opposite Port Stephens, 2hrs drive from Sydney. Directly across the road from Heros Beach, a small inlet safe for kids to swim, and ideal for paddling on the 2 SUPs we offer for our guests to enjoy.
The house is set in the bush backing onto a Eucalyptus grove, and the 6 large glass double windows at the front offer breath-taking sunset views over the water.

Tea Gardens is a 15-minute drive, offering cafes, bakeries and fresh seafood on the water, as well as Coles, bottle shops, and Tea Gardens Hotel, a fantastic family-friendly pub with multiple indoor and outdoor dining and kids play areas.
Hawkes Nest is a further 5 mins past Tea Gardens, boasting one of the most beautiful white sand ocean beaches. Bennetts beach is ideal for long walks whilst taking in the undisturbed views of islands & lush green nature, this is a must visit for the area.
Karuah which has a great RSL, fresh oyster shacks, bakeries, bottle shop and IGA is 8 minutes away.

The charm of North Arm Cove is that it has an abundance of nature to enjoy with bush walks and water sports, and it doesn’t have any of the hustle and bustle of shops or pubs, just a proud little community offering coffee, cake & toasties in the community centre on Monday & Thursday 10-11am and Saturday 10am-12pm. Exercise classes are available at $10 including, Zumba on Monday & Thursday 9-10am and Pilates on Friday 7.30-8.30am. You can also hire the tennis courts for $5 per/hr, shoot a hoop, play on the kids jungle gym, or grab free herbs from the garden beds.

This is our holiday house that we are happy to occasionally share with active nature lovers looking for tranquillity, and comfort. As such, we ask that you respect our home furnishings so that we can continue to share this beautiful space in the high standard it is presented.

We do have smart technology that will allow us to see who arrives at the front door, as well as very friendly neighbours who will let us know of any unacceptable behaviour.
This means parties, functions, bucks, hens, schoolies, smoking indoors, pets, more than 6 guests, poor behaviour, or late loud noise are not permitted under any circumstances at our property.

Home away from home.
Our family had a relaxing stay at Sojourn. Felt like a home away from home. The house is clean. The lounge is spacious, the bedrooms have comfortable beds, and the kitchen is well stocked. Game and gym area that will complete your perfect weekend getaway. It's walking distance to the beach, where the kids enjoyed paddle boarding. Communication with Vivian and Bram was excellent. Thank you for sharing your beautiful holiday home with us.

Recharge Your Batteries!
Absolutely stunning property! Booked as a surprise for my wife’s birthday and she absolutely loved it. Plenty to do both in the property, it rained one day, and the surrounding area, beautiful sunny day the next. I could talk up this experience all day. Property owners were friendly and flexible.(I made a booking error and got the days wrong!) I would thoroughly recommend Sojourn at the Cove to anyone looking for a quiet property right on the water to relax and recharge. Will definitely be back!

About the host

An Aussie girl and Dutch guy met & fell in love in Singapore in 2009, continuing to live & get married there. Moved to Sydney (Viv's hometown) in 2015, enjoying a coastal lifestyle in Bronte, and now thrilled by our nature escape in North Arm Cove. We are active nature and water lovers that enjoy spending time with our family and friends, good food, good humour, and well-being.

Why they chose this property

We wanted a true escape from the city & didn't want to replicate our Bronte Beach lifestyle, so when we stumbled across this quiet beautiful Cove we immediately fell in love with the nature and the small close-knit community. We completely transformed the brown brick, peach walls, brown vinyl floor & 30 yr old kitchen and bathrooms, creating a space we love and hope to share with others who will love it too.
