The Alpenglow Haus by Mountain Vacation Lodging is a large property that is ideal for multiple families, a few couples or a single large family. It has a large kitchen , a wood-burning fireplace, comfortable furnishings, and thoughtful touches that make it unique and welcoming. Bedrooms 1 through 4 are all on the upper level. Bedroom 1 is huge and is perfect for a family of 4. Bedrooms 2 and 3, connected by their "jack and jill" bathroom, are perfect for a family of up to 6. Better yet, gather some or all of your group together for some fun and games - there are loads of games as well as books and toys for kids to enjoy. This place is one of Steamboat's more affordable large rental homes, yet it also offers numerous updates in places that count, such as the kitchen and bathrooms. The main kitchen has two refrigerators, double ovens, an island with cooktop, seating for 6, and pantry space. It also has all the little things that you want in a kitchen. From spices to small appliances including the crockpot, mixer, blender, and rice cooker, enough silverware, dishes, and glasses for large groups, pretty much whatever you can think of needing. This home also has a convenient location in Steamboat's mountain village. It's a quiet residential area up off the valley floor, so you'll have nice views of mountains and the valley, but it's also very convenient to the ski slopes, restaurants, shops, and Steamboat's free bus system. **Please note - the Alpenglow Haus is technically a duplex home, with an attached apartment that is long term rented to a local resident.

Location:
The property is located in Steamboat's Mountain Village area, less than one mile from Steamboat Square. If you have anyone in your group who is not quite ready to hit the slopes, or isn't skiing at all, have them drop you off at the Gondola Transit Center. It's only a 3 minute drive. The location is also convenient to Steamboat's year round free bus. The Herbage bus stop, which is about 400 meters away (a walk of about 4 to 6 minutes), is only 3 stops from the center of the ski area base, and the walk is mostly flat - no hills to go up or down. Consider storing your skis and boots in Steamboat Square (free if you rent) to make the walk to and from the bus super easy. Summer guests may want to bring or rent bikes, or e-bikes. Only about 100 meters from the home is an extension of the Yampa River Core Trail system. You can walk, jog, stroll or bike from this home down the gravel path to the Yampa River, and follow that paved path all the way downtown, or beyond. In winter, this nearby path is snowpacked for walking and a good place for sledding with the kids.
Arrival, Access, and Parking:
– Accessing the Property – Access from the driveway to the entry level requires a flight of stairs. Guests will park and then walk up a flight of exterior stairs to enter the main level of the home. There is ski/snowboard storage on that level.
– Parking – There is outdoor parking in the driveway for up to 4 vehicles, reserved and free. Trailers may be possible, but would eliminate parking for vehicles. **Parking on streets is not allowed at any time and is strictly prohibited and enforced around rental properties.** If you might need offsite parking for a 5th vehicle, or a trailer, please contact us for options and ideas.
– 4WD, AWD or vehicles with chains may be required to access this property when traveling during seasons when winter weather is possible or likely. Contact us for more details if you have any questions or concerns.

** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.
** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit.
