Wanted to love it
So this house has a lot of potential, it’s a huge house on a large property with a pool. The pictures and listing make it seem like a nice place. We didn’t last an hour in this house. The air conditioner was leaking through the attic floor into the bathroom then through the bathroom floor into the kitchen. I understand these things could happen anywhere and mostly not the fault of the owner (although the vents were heavy coated with dust so if those were cleaned it might have made it easier on the system and it might not have froze up). Additionally, we found a vape pen in the cup holder of the couch and an open bottle of wine (literally no lid) on the bottom shelf of the fridge (which was also leaking). The house needed a serious deep clean; grimy surfaces, leaves and dead bugs on the carpets upstairs and in the window sill, soap rings and stains in the bathtubs. Additionally some general maintenance was needed non-functioning lights in master bath, closets and in the basement. This house looked and felt like a party house, but for the price we paid we had much higher standards. We took a risk renting a house with no reviews because it was with Evolve and we have had no issues with this company in the past. They ended up refunding us but it was stressful since we were in an unfamiliar area and had to wait to find out if they would be finding us another place to stay or giving us our money back.
The property manager was easy to work with and helpful, she responded quickly and did her best to make it right. Hopefully they can work to make this house better, like I said it has a lot of potential just needs some work upfront to make it ready to be a vacation rental.
Additionally the listing should probably be updated to include that the roads leading to this house are steep and gravel so if you drive a lower profile vehicle you will bottom out.
