Great Girls Weekend Away

Such a big, beautiful, quiet home!We were a group of five women; friends for over 35 years, so had had plenty to talk about! This house is perfect for such a group, with a great setup for board games on the dining room table and a comfortable living room with plenty of seating, and amazing views from the table on the deck. The warm floor in the beautifully remodeled upstairs bathroom was a hit worth mentioning! The view is stunning, grounds are well-tended and gorgeous. Access is a breeze, and no amenities were lacking.We were an easy and scenic drive to Nanaimo, Qualicum Beach, Englishman River Falls Provincial Park, and Cathedral Grove.Chris and Wendy were very responsive, making sure that we were completely comfortable and satisfied with our surroundings. Already hoping for a return visit.Thank you so much, Chris and Wendy!

Excellent host and facilities.

It was an incredible place with a wonderful view. The facility was so clean on the grounds and inside the house. They had so much available in the kitchen, the towels, linen and blankets and we didn’t want for anything. It was so organized and clean, and the property was immaculate. They really went above and beyond supplying the necessities to have the perfect vacation. The communication between the host was really good and they always got back to us with any questions that we had. We are definitely coming back.

Holiday getaway

We were in town visiting family and found this rental filled all of our needs. Big enough for five adults and a very well equipped kitchen! The view from the deck was amazing and would consider returning.

Perfect for our family

Gorgeous location and lovely house! It was perfect for our family of two adults and four teenagers. The kids had a great time in the tide pools nearby, and it was a great home base for exploring Vancouver Island. Check in was smooth as could be, and the house was well-equipped for anything we needed. Wish we could have stayed longer!

A perfect family hub

Perfect spot on the ocean with a lovely beach for wading and swimming. The house was extremely well equipped with abundant towels, kitchen tools, and anything else we might need.

Wonderful quiet family house with ocean-view balcony near beach

We had a great stay at this wonderful house! We loved the ocean-view, the large garden, the BBQ-Grill, the space and everything! The kids loved playing table-tennis and darts. We had perfect weather and went swimming in the sea every day.

Tranquil get away

What a beautiful property! Just perfect for a long weekend family gathering. We had kids to grandparents, and everyone had a wonderful time. Highlights for us were : - excellent bedroom layouts - having the bunkbeds with the queen bed was perfect for our family! -2 living rooms for different lounging activities - the garage with ping pong table, darts, and a whole lot of beach gear - well stocked kitchen. Pretty much everything you could want for cooking is available, with lots of dishes. Dishwasher was a welcome bonus - the balcony with incredible ocean view. And the large garden for enjoying the bird song and sounds of nature - beach access only a moment away, with wonderful tide pools and rocks for climbing. Thank you for opening up your home and providing an unforgettable experience!

Lovely Oceanside getaway

Beautiful large space , so many nice touches and all the amenities . We really enjoyed it. Lots of rooms for everyone to find quiet space or social spaces . Down the road a couple hundred metres is a nice park with easier access for kayaking low or high tide .

Relaxing and Comfortable Family Vacation

This home truly feels like a home and not just a staged room. It offers lots of comfortable seating, a great view, and enough room and privacy for everyone. The heating always works perfectly, providing a cozy atmosphere, and the warm water has great pressure. The kitchen was so well-equipped! We cooked every day and were pleasantly surprised to find everything we needed for cooking, baking, and BBQ. Having a fire pit available outside was simply amazing, and the property overall is so peaceful. Everything was clean, and the host even decorated for Christmas and left us a goodie basket with delicious cookies and Nanaimo bars. We absolutely loved our stay, and communication with the host was excellent.

Relaxing retreat

Beautiful location on the bay with views through trees. Our multi generational family all found activities and places to be together and alone. So many amenities and comfy furnishings.

Our family has lived in the Yellow Point area for nearly 40 years. We used to own a small resort called Mermaid Cove which is just down the road. Before that we used to come to the area regularly and rent a cottage. We love this area and know it well and we've been hosting and helping others discover its beauty and relaxed lifestyle for decades.

Why they chose this property

Yellow Point Escape sits on one of the prettiest coves in the area. In summer the ocean provides a great place for viewing wildlife, hikes on the beach or in the forest, swimming, boating and more. In the spring and fall the swimming may be for the more adventuresome but the storm watching, hiking, and wildlife viewing are just as good. We are close to great hiking trails and parks but also close to all the amenities from groceries to fine dining. We are near ferry's, highways and airports but also deep in the country. You can enjoy movies, theatre or live music in Nanaimo just 20 minutes away or visit the lovely small town of Ladysmith 20 minutes in the other direction. Day trips will take you to wine country in the Cowichan Valley or walks in old growth forests. You can go whale watching, take a guided kayak trip or tour the Gulf Islands. Its a very central location for a lot of what Vancouver Island has to offer.

What makes this property unique

We love the cove. The walk on gently sloped beach is great for children and adults alike. The tide goes out a long way and when it comes back in the water is warmed by its trip back over the sand. The sandstone formations along its edges make for easy walking and provide lots of space for a picnic. Poking around through tidal pools teeming with life is a perfect way to spend a morning. Campfires at night give you a chance to go over the days adventures and enjoy the quiet of waves coming into the shore.

The house is large but feels homey with snug rooms that are perfect for long conversations and family gatherings and allow the space from someone to curl up with a book while others play a game of darts or table tennis or catch up on television programmes.

The deck has comfortable seating and a large table to allow for al fresco dining on food straight from the barbeque.

It is the perfect place to try out the West Coast lifestyle.
