Not our usual VRBO experience

Check in process was more involved than usual. Had to do a scan of my DL, a facial recognition scan, enter license tag of rental car, and put down $300 “incidental” deposit before receiving check in instructions. Was not aware of any of this when booking the reservation. When asking for an earlier checkin in the standard 5pm, they informed me that it would be an additional $99 for early checkin or late checkout. There were brown sticky spots on kitchen counter, bathtub was dirty, and the bath towels seemed clean but were full of hair. Luckily there is a washing machine in unit, so we washed all of them upon arrival. Just not a great experience overall.
