Only eight minutes away is the beautiful, quant old town York. There is a sock factory, motor museum, ice cream factory, Lolly shop and two beautiful mountains where you can watch the sunrise in one, and sunset on the other!!

About the host

The FarmHouse Retreat was started to help cancer patients in the late stages of their disease. By providing a place to relax, enjoy the simple things in life and feed their bodies with much-needed herbs and food, it has been amazing to see so many heal and win the battle.

Given that I have never charged anyone, I felt by renting out rooms or holding camps, I could generate some income to help me help those who cannot afford to donate.

Why they chose this property

York is a beautiful old, quirky town. It has lots of history, is quiet and is currently the studio for The Twelve being filmed as I write. Sam Neil has been spotted walking around town even speaking to some of the locals including my daughter!

What makes this property unique

My property is quirky. Warm and well catered for when it comes to children. We offer accommodation in our 4-bedroom Farmhouse and a glamping experience with a difference.
