About this property
Whole-cottage rental near Kawaguchiko & Saiko; wood stove, BBQ, Mt. Fuji views
A Special Location Woven from Tranquility and Nature
About 90 minutes by car from central Tokyo, Lake Saiko sits at an elevation of 900m and is one of the Fuji Five Lakes renowned for its serenity and natural beauty. With little commercial development, much of Saiko’s pristine environment remains untouched. Stroll along the lakeshore to enjoy breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji, lush forests (Jukai), and the cobalt-blue lake surface. These views have quietly appeared in many domestic and international advertisements, often without people realizing it. Wildlife such as deer and serows can occasionally be spotted, making it hard to believe such a rich natural experience is so close to the city. Saiko also gained fame when the once-extinct kunimasu trout was rediscovered here. To protect its rich ecosystem, swimming is completely prohibited, which means there are no noisy motorboats-allowing you to enjoy fishing, kayaking, SUP, and other water activities on a mirror-like lake. The lake’s compact 10 km circumference is also perfect for walking, jogging, or cycling.
Luxurious Time at a Cottage Surrounded by Saiko’s Nature
Weekend House Saiko offers a collection of cottages (A to E on a 3,500㎡ site, G and F on a 4,000㎡ site), each over 100㎡, providing spacious, tranquil, whole-cottage rentals. Each cottage features a wood stove, floor heating, and a fully equipped kitchen, allowing you to enjoy local ingredients while cooking. On your private deck, relax in a hammock or have a BBQ while taking in forest and lakeside views. Enjoy coffee to the sound of birds in the morning and gaze at a star-filled sky at night. Escape the city, digitally detox, and recharge your mind and body in this rich natural setting.
Nearby Attractions
At “Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba,” you’ll find a restored thatched-roof village with Mt. Fuji as a backdrop, especially beautiful in spring with cherry blossoms. Other dynamic natural attractions include the Narusawa Ice Cave, Fugaku Wind Cave, and Aokigahara Forest. Kawaguchiko is just 5 minutes by car, while Niikurayama Sengen Park (famous for photos of Mt. Fuji and a five-story pagoda) and Nishiura Street (known for its view of Mt. Fuji and local shops) are about 30 minutes away, making Saiko a peaceful base for exploring popular spots.
