Weapons Policy

Summary

Bookabach is committed to creating a safe and respectful environment for both guests and hosts. If hosts have weapons in the home, they must inform guests and keep them securely stored. Where hosts allow weapons on the property, they must inform guests of what they do and don’t allow. Read on to find out more.

Hosts and guests must follow all local, state, and national laws regarding the possession, storage, and disclosure of weapons at their property.

Hosts must also disclose the presence of any weapons at the home in the House Rules in their listing. This includes firearms, and other items that may be considered a weapon. Hosts should also be specific in their Weapons Policy about any type of weapon they do or don’t allow in the property. Clear communication helps guests make informed decisions, and ensures expectations are aligned before booking.

Any weapons present at the property must be stored securely and safely during a guest’s stay. Hosts are responsible for ensuring that weapons are inaccessible to guests.

Enforcement

If a guest asks for a weapon in the home to be removed, hosts must respect their request.

If a guest brings a weapon onto the property in violation of the host’s Weapons Policy, the booking may be cancelled and they will not be eligible for a refund.

If a guest finds what they believe to be a weapon in the home, they should check the House Rules, reach out to the host, or contact us
