Sunny, private, modern, architecturally-designed, quiet, children-friendly, semi-detached 3 bedroom cottage featuring a distinctively 'arty' NZ flavour on a farmlet with sea and mountain views. Corru Gate is stylish and different - city chic meets country style. Set in 7 acres of Nelson paradise beside Mapua seaside village, Corru Gate has a distinctive NZ flavour - stained board and batten, and corrugated iron. Barn red detailing, sunny colours, flax, ferns and koru add to the kiwi styling.
Corru Gate is built and maintained with sustainability principles. We value our natural environment (open spaces, birds and native trees). We have a spray free orchard – grab a lemon for your G&T on the deck, or enjoy a delicious breakfast grapefruit. Children are welcome – the cottage is well fenced and there is a great playground, treehut, chickens/sheep, pond swimming and SPACE. Owners nearby for advice/must-dos. Babysitter list too!
Welcoming and comfortable, Corru Gate has a zany kitchen, classy bathroom (bath with shower), a sunny, open plan lounge/dining area, and French doors opening onto a sun-drenched deck and private garden. For toasty warmth in winter, there are heaters and a wood-burner. Fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, stereo, Freeview TV and DVD, telephone/internet, BBQ, own laundry, it features quality furniture (including great beds), plus local/NZ art.
Corru Gate is central for exploration and adventure. Wander our gently sloping farm taking in the view of Ruby Bay. Cafes, galleries and shops are 3 mins away in the seaside village of Mapua. Nearby - beaches, inlet, fishing and boat ramp, wharf jumping, Rabbit Island ferry, cycle trails (cycle hire available for Great Taste Trail). Many vineyards are just up the road. Art studios and most Nelson potteries 20 min away; Abel Tasman and Kaiteriteri - 25; superb rivers 5–20, Nelson 30km.

We had a very enjoyable stay in a great central location. It made visiting both Nelson, Kaiteriteri and everything inbetween easy day trips. This included some lovely beaches and Richmond pool not too far for an indoor splash about. There was a lot of good exploring for the children and having a trampoline and playground on site gave them a bit of freedom, within hearing distance of the house. The accomodation provided everything we needed. Would not hesitate to recomend to friends and family.

We found CorruGate to be very clean and comfortable. A very handy drive to the Mapua Wharf. We enjoyed picking fruit from the orchard.
