The orginal Kawau Island Schoolhouse but in 1870 by Sir George Grey is a 6 bedroom fully restored waterfront house.
Catch the Kawau Kat, water taxi or private boat to the Schoolhouse bay jetty and walk straight into the Schoolhouse.

2) Cancellations less than 2 weeks before rental will incur loss of deposit ( first night rental fees).
3) No cancellations less than a week from rental, otherwise full rental will be charged.
5)Change of rental date less than 2 weeks before rental will incur a $150 fee.

When we arrived, our initial thoughts were that the Schoolhouse needed some TLC (and it does), but as our stay went on, we really did not care one bit. What a special spot! The weather was beautiful, the fish were jumping and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and didn't want to leave!!!!! Thanks so much to the owners for allowing us to share their little slice of heaven :-)

What a great spot! The kids loved feeding the three tame(!) eagle rays in the bay, swimming, kayaking and all the boating/fishing that this area boasts. The house is really well equipped for large and social groups. A real sun-trap. We would definitely book again.
