Looking for a big bach for your winter escape to Ohakune?
The Barn is centrally located in Ohakune midway between the Junction and town. Easy walk to the super market, movie theater, bars, cafes and restaurants. The Barn represents value for money accommodation for groups up to 5 people and is a great alternative to backpackers, as you get your own living space and cooking facilities, we even have a drying room and a large mezzanine floor.
The Barn has a fantastic fireplace, people have been known to complain about it being little too warm at times! Is a fun relaxed environment and is the perfect choice for your ski and snowboard group trips to Turoa and Whakapapa. Summer is great for hiking and mountain biking.
There are lightweight duvets on the beds this is to sleep on so everyone will need to bring their own sleeping bags.
Please note you must be over the age of 20 to book The Barn or have positive feedback in bookabach.
The Barn is not luxury accommodation, it is comparable to staying at a nice backpackers and you will have to do stuff like go to the wood shed and get your own firewood and clean up the place after your stay but that being said it is the most cost effective option in Ohakune if you have a group of between 8-20 people.
When you book The Barn the price is the same for 1 or up to 18 people.
Also we use bookabach exclusively for our bookings so please check the dates below, if it is yellow someone has requested the date but not yet paid, so you can make a booking as well and if you pay first the booking is yours. If a booking is red, that means that group has paid and their booking has been confirmed and you will have to find another date to book.

Good location, property was what was expected. Good for the number of people we had 10. we went biking so it would have been ideal to have a secure shed or similiar. Have no complaints, already feed info to a few others, so hopefully they will be in touch.

We had a great time based at the Barn, perfect for our early summer explorations of Maunga Ruapehu. Bach comfortable and plenty of hot water, beds, firewood and tidy little kitchen for breakfast. cheers.
