Bach or holiday home | Kinloch | #11942
One of the original homes built in Kinloch, this family holiday home is located in the heart of Kinloch, overlooking the Kinloch Marina and entrance. A deck opening off the lounge offers stunning views of the surrounding locality, the marina, and with views of Lake Taupo across Whangamata Bay – especially in the evenings with the spectacular sunsets. A BBQ and seating on this area provides a great area for socialising.
Amenities within two hundred metres of this property include the foreshore of Lake Taupo with good swimming and picnic facilities, the Kinloch Marina and boat ramp (almost adjoining), general store, a restaurant, two public tennis courts, the starting point of the W2K walk, a children’s playground, ducks and swans for children to feed and the iconic Kinloch pedestrian bridge. Another cafe, restaurant, 10 hole public golf course, the Kinloch International Golf Course, and more tennis courts are within 500 metres. Kinloch has numerous walkways, reserves and tracks ideal for family walks and bike rides (bring your bikes). Kinloch is handy to the great trout fishing area of the Western Bays. Taupo township with further tourist attractions is only 20kms away (15 minutes drive), and the ski fields are a one and half hour drive.
This stucco home has 3 double bedrooms in the main part of the house, with facilities to sleep another 2 people in the attached self contained games room/flat. There are two bathrooms, and 2 separate toilets. The Bach has gas heated water. The bach is just perfect, what a location! Mornings and evenings spent on the deck watching the boaties come and go, and a short stroll to the Lake and shops. We will definitely look to return to an idyllic spot with wonderful hosts. Modern kitchen and open lounge area great for family holiday gathering, beds were great and bach presented beautifully clean - bonus was the new BBQ on the deck!
We loved the house and the view from it, and would stay again. Great locality to local shops and lake too.
Lovely people and place. Comfy beds, and great kitchen. Having an uninterrupted view of the marina and the lake, means there is always something to look at and if you want to block out any noise from the boat engines the doors and windows are double glazed. Being only 2 min's from the shop, tennis courts, the beach and the restaurant means you can walk to everything. Best mountain bike trails in Taupo are just on your doorstep too. If you have kids with you, this place works well as they have their own half of the house, even a kitchen bench, shower, sink and toilet to themselves. Awesome water pressure in the shower and gas hot water, so no cold shower for the last one up! The restaurant does good food but it is pricey, so if you are on a budget, stick to the takeaways from the shop.
As advertised, a great location and unbeatable view.
Lovely location and superb view from the bach. Pretty easy drive from Taupo. What you read is what you get. We only booked this place two days before our stay after a last minute decision to stop over at Lake Taupo on a trip back from Palmerston North to Hamilton. The owner was out of country but responded very promptly to confirm we understood the terms (i.e. bring your own bedsheets etc.) before accepting our request. Overall, our family enjoyed our stay. Here's a quick summary. What worked well -beautiful view/location (as advertised) -nice trail nearby for those looking for a small hike -a small beach within walking distance -a corner store and café (if you don't wish to cook) -kitchen exceeded expectations and was well stocked with brand new appliances -three of the rooms had very comfortable beds with electric blankets -fireplace was awesome bonus -Sky TV was an added bonus -interaction with owner was swift and instructions were very clear Could be better -Man cave was spacious
