Bach or holiday home | Parapara | #13068
Two Tides floats on a private bush-edged north-facing site on the fringes of the Parapara estuary in beautiful Golden Bay. Designed by award-winning Nelson architect Min Hall and Arthouse Architecture, it is beautifully positioned and built for all-day sun. Elegant and stylish, compact yet uncluttered, it is furnished to high standards of quality and comfort. It will appeal to those who appreciate the finer things in life – even when they have sand between their toes.
Glass joinery doors open onto decks to the north and east to expand the living space on warm days. Double-glazed and fully insulated, it also has a Warmington Studio Woodburner/Oven and an oil column heater for to ensure toasty winter warmth.
Located in Parapara Beach Road, it is a few minutes drive from the famous Mussel Inn at Onekaka and, equally, a short distance by car from the Courthouse Café, shops, the pub and Rosy Glow chocolates in Collingwood. It is an ideal situation from which to explore the many attractions Golden Bay has to offer: from Farewell Spit and Wharariki Beach to Pupu Springs and Wainui Falls. Or to rest up after one of the many tramps the area offers including, of course, the Heaphy Track. It boasts a number of artists’ and potters’ studios in the near vicinity including Tim Jessup, Anatoth, Rinopai, Estuary Arts, Margaret Maloney and Paul Winspear, among others. Windsurfing and kayaking is popular on the estuary and boards and boats can be hired from a neighbouring local boating trust.
Golden Bay is celebrated for its beaches – Parapara beach is a mere 200-metre stroll – for its isolation and wild beauty, its wildlife and birds, its original and vibrant arts scene, its off-beat but compelling eateries, and the friendliness of its people. Two Tides is ideally placed for an introduction to all of these. But it is also the perfect, peaceful bach in which to curl up with a good book and admire the view.
Special conditions: Two Tides is unsuitable for young children; a ladder to a mezzanine 'storage loft' is a dangerous temptation for children under about 10 or 12. In certain circumstances, Two Tides might accommodate an additional one or two persons. Apply to the owner/manager for details. While four nights is the preferred minimum in peak season, shorter stays might on occasion be considered. Apply to the owner/manager.

Beautiful property. Quiet, modern and super clean. Perfect blend of being far enough a way but close enough (with a car of course) to everything you need Great use of kayaks and the boat shed If your looking for r&r - this property is perfect Only niggle was sand flies in the area, which is throughout golden bay & able Tasman though property had it all figured out with fly screens and bug sprays Overall 10/10
