‘ The Hidden Tui’ --A brand new listing, a perfect holiday place with the best of everything.

You will have a stunning view of Doubtless Bay from an elevated position plus a private track directly to the delightful Tuitonga Beach.

The section is a right-of-way down a steep concrete drive, has a large flat area for parking car and boat, playing or pup tents, with a secret track beside a small stream through native bush to emerge on a safe and sheltered, golden sand beach. Good fishing from the rocks each end and boat launching just around the corner in the next bay.

The bach is compact and newly refurbished, the sleepout is bigger, the decks are large both front and back. The rear deck is roofed over but we pretend it never rains in the winterless north.

Whatuwhiwhi is at the northern end of Tokerau beach. Plenty of good walks and short drives to Karikari Beach, Puwheke, Maitai Bay, Rangiputa. Each and every one of these is magic.

It is 15 minutes to Cable Bay and another 5 minutes to Cooper’s Beach and historic Mangonui.

Shop & service station are in the Whatuwhiwhi village, 3 minutes drive. Takeaways as well. Fine dining or coffee & food, served with a view that takes your breath away, just on the road to Maitai Bay, at Carrington Resort & Winery. Also a great golf course.

We let the bach once in the past but the good folks said they wouldn't need it again; they bought the bach next door!

You will find yourself about 30 minutes from Ninety Mile Beach and a couple of hours from Cape Reinga, with more gorgeous beaches all the way up the east coast.

However, once you settle in to Tuitonga, the hidden tui, you may not ever want to go anywhere else.Ever again.

We enjoyed our stay very much as it was our kind of kiwi bach, but with the extras: wonderful view, quiet beach and the dinghy. We fished and caught snapper every day. The proximity to Maitai Bay was just great as we body surfed often. A great find.

Amazing views/location nice and private even though surrounded by homes, great little beach through the bush which you had mostly to yourself, surrounded by several other beaches and close to Kaitaia for any major supplies and central to the tourist spots up north, Well worth it.
