Bach or holiday home | Whatuwhiwhi | #18314
The highlight of this Kiwiana bach is the secluded white sandy beach at the bottom of the property. The beach is accessed via a little path that leads off the front lawn and winds its way down through native bush and across a small coastal stream and a conservation reserve to the sand. The beach has a lovely untouched and remote feel, fringed in mature native vegetation and framed by rocky outcrops perfect for catching fish from. Take a picnic to the beach or a towel and good book for a relaxing day.
The Hidden Tui cabins are currently configured to sleep eight. The "sleeping" cabin has two open plan rooms with a double bed in one room, a double/single bunk and single/single bunk in the second room. The second cabin has a small but very functional kitchen and a bathroom with shower, a day bed, TV and table and chairs. Please note: there is no oven. There is a stove top, microwave, electric fry pan and large BBQ for cooking.
A large lawn below the cabins provides additional space for camping and outdoor recreation. Outdoor games equipment is available for your use including a canoe. The cabins are joined by a seaward facing wooden deck edged in tree ferns and while sitting at the outdoor table you can enjoy lovely views over the trees down to the ocean. A rear covered deck provides a second sheltered outdoor entertainment area with a BBQ and access to a second toilet.
A general store, takeaways & service station are in the Whatuwhiwhi village, a short 3 minutes drive. Laundry facilities are available at the camp ground a short 2 min drive down the road. Golf, dining and wine tasting at Carrington Resort & Winery is just up the road.
You will find yourself about 30 minutes from Ninety Mile Beach and a couple of hours from Cape Reinga, with more gorgeous beaches all the way up the east coast.

Perfect Kiwi bach. Small walk to the beach which is a fantastic spot. Bach is clean and tidy. There are baches around close by but they are not visible so you feel like you’re in your own oasis. One bach owner behind us decided to chainsaw Manuka all over Waitangi weekend, but that’ could happen anywhere, especially on a public holiday. We just walked to the beach and couldn’t hear a thing! Highly recommended and will be back
Great location and property. Although in a built up area, once you get to the actual bach, it appears as if you are the only ones there. The bach is your typical Kiwi bach, and has every thing that you need for a great holiday. There is a walkway down to a lovely private sandy beach, which is only shared by a few other baches in the area, but all seem to have their own walkway. I totally recommend this bach to any family, it's tidy, comfortable and clean.
