The Waterline is a unique bach sitting on stilts over the waters of the Hokianga Harbour. Situated in the historic village of Kohukohu (see the village's website for more about Kohukohu), The Waterline offers a romantic getaway for couples and an inspirational environment for relaxing, as a retreat for the artist or writer or just an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. With Wifi installed there's no need to rush back to the office!

Kohukohu is a small village with a warm and friendly community ideally situated for exploring the sub tropical far north of New Zealand. Within about an hours drive you can visit the Bay of Islands, the stunning sand dunes at Opinoni at the mouth of the harbour, the majestic Kauri Tane Mahuta in the Waipoua Forest, Ninety Mile Beach and the wild west coast at Mitimiti.

Special conditions: The Waterline is really set for a couple to enjoy. It is possible that one or maybe two children could stay but as the bach offers single studio accommodation there is not room for more than two adults.

  • A wonderful place

A wonderful place. The views couldn't be better and the location is perfect - close to the cafe, art gallery and little shop. The whole place has been kitted out in-keeping with the character of the house and the kitchen is really well-equipped. Joy, who was the contact person during our stay was superb. A great experience.

  • This was an incredible place

This was an incredible place. The village is so friendly, peaceful and remote, and the house itself is so unique and beautiful - amazing to fall asleep with the sound of water under the house and fish off the deck and it had everything we could possibly need and was full of fascinating things
