Bach or holiday home | Birkenhead | #24057
Two bedroom upper floor of a character home which has evolved over the years from a 1940's bach. The original floor plan can be seen in the beautiful, wide, Kauri, Rimu and Matai floor boards which grace the central area of the house. A deck runs all around the north facing side of the house, connecting the kitchen deck with the deck off the lounge. The kitchen has a cosy alcove with a cute little 50's diner style table. Each deck also has a table and chairs, allowing lots of choice for dining and relaxing.
Verrans Corner is a comfortable walk away, with a superb cafe. Even closer, a restaurant quality Thai takeaway and little superette are only a short walk away, at the top of the road. Birkenhead has a great selection of restaurants too.
Our local beach is tidal, but I find I can always get a swim in, and there is a good three hour window of swimming around each high tide. Otherwise, the nearby East Coast beaches of Takapuna, Milford, Mairangi Bay etc, have all day swimming and wonderful beach walks.
Ferries depart from Beachhaven wharf, Birkenhead wharf, Northcote wharf and Devonport.

Lovely location and spacious property. Some lack of attention to details for the visitor (towels not obvious on arrival, little cupboard space in kitchen for food storage) and felt a little less private being adjacent to owner's home and business, but then again the view and quiet was brilliant alongside suburban convenience! Would stay there again.
This property provided quiet surroundings, easy beach access for both swimming and fishing, and a short drive to the city centre and shopping areas. Exceptional views were available from separate decks and this allowed us to use the outside spaces in both wet and dry weather. The property was clean and tidy with a large lounge and outdoor entertaining area including barbecue. I would recommend this property to both family and friends.
