The Old School Masters House oozes character and charm. It's spacious yet cosy & radiates old world charm alongside modern conveniences. This comfortable cottage has been revived with a modern kitchen and bathroom while keeping its unique character.

The property works well for up to two families. The garden provides a beautiful setting for summer alfresco dinning or drinks on the deck in the late sun. In winter the log burner adds to the cosy ambiance, ideal for snuggling up with a good book from the extensive personal library collection.

About Kawhia - this sleepy coastal paradise offers a unique, down-to-earth, and laid-back experience. You'll feel like you've stepped back in time and know you're in heartland NZ when you see children riding through the streets bareback on a horse, or diving off the wharf into the inviting waters below.

Kawhia is steeped in ancient history, natural beauty and is the spiritual and ancestral home of the Maori tribe, Tainui.

With so many excellent outdoor activities even the most adventurous won’t get bored.

Things to do in the area:

• Dig a natural hot pool – Te Puia Hot Springs ocean beach

• Swimming in the harbour at high tide

• Walks – Harbour walk, Ocean beach walk,

• Golf course next door

Brilliant old property - loads of space, well stocked kitchen and very comfortable. Kawhia has lots of facilities including a good local store and fab cafe. Just be aware that even though it was Sept school hols, some of the shops/cafes weren't open for the season. Beware the road into Kawhia though if you have kids - its very bendy!!!

A beautiful bach - homely, comfortable, full of character (and good books), spotlessly clean and tidy throughout, very comfy beds, a roomy well-equipped kitchen, child-friendly layout. A lovely outside space too, great for the kids. Not only is the house fabulous but Kawhia is a special place to visit too. We LOVED our stay here, can't wait to come back:-)
