This newly completed, self-contained accommodation unit has been built to the highest specifications, is separate from the hosts villa and set amongst 40 acres of rolling farmland and rural forest. The position of this property overlooks Mapua and Tasman Bay, with views over Richmond and the Richmond ranges on one side with the Western ranges to the other. My husband and I felt this was probably the most beautiful property we have ever stayed in, even though we have stayed in more expensive ones. Every detail in construction was meticulous and the furnishings and decorating were relaxing and elegant. The romantic location was away from it all, giving us the quiet we wanted while still giving us the access to all the Nelson area/Able Tasman attractions that we wanted. Staying at Hawkes Ridge was a special part of our New Zealand vacation.
This two bedroom Bach is built on a hill to the west of the main house. The kitchen is very well equipped with treats like fresh eggs and cookies. The decking with BBQ faces West so would be sheltered and warm in the cooler months whilst hot on a Summer afternoon. Located on a shared private road in a rural area within easy reach of many attractions : If you like to be off the main route, enjoy peace and quiet iand don't want to walk anywhere, you will love Hawke's Ridge.
Shhh don't tell anyone as it might get booked out - however, to be fair to Mary and Paul I feel I must. Beautifully, stunning location, great supplies (e.g eggs, bread, milk, flour, spreads etc) and top quality build, appliances and supplies. The only very minor thing was the main bedroom has no blinds to the celestory style windows so it was very bright quite early in the morning. Our first choice for when we return!
This is an amazing property that is far enough away from the city to feel like you are in the middle of rural South Island but close enough that forgetting a vital supply is not that big of an issue. This bach is extremely comfortable, warm, had beautiful views and amazing hosts. Highly recommended!
