Great location for getting to Auckland airport. Also visit unexpectedly impressive Hunua falls and Auckland Botanic gardens nearby. Friendly owners and their pets welcomed us instantly into their rural homestay. Comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and own sitting area, owners share rest of house.
Rural and tranquil - but not isolated. Hosts(Simon s parents) are super hospitable. Modern pleasant room. Access to great kitchen / dining area. A little hard to find. You actually see the postbox of 136 first and 134 is discreet on the gatepost (shared drive). It was dusk when we arrived - so probably didn t help.
Felt like coming home after a very long journey. The hospitality and kindness of the hosts, Judy and Mike are outstanding. I can't express it as good in english as in german, but I try: This is a very unique place, great surrounding, nice pets (loved the dogs), and Judy and Mike build a home with their own hands that makes you feel, the holidays should last longer. Was hard to leave, but I had to. Thank you so much for a few wonderful days in your home.
