Welcome to our family farm!

Our Farm is home to hosts Emilie, Phil, Theo and Jonah, as well as our highland cattle (Lola, Steffi, Effie and Fluffy McTuffy) and an ever growing flock of chickens. Nestled in the foothills of the Tararuas on the Waingawa River, our newly renovated accomodation will let you unwind in a gorgeous setting!

We offer charming boutique accommodation - family friendly and affordable - with packages and extras to suit all needs. We are happy to supply seasonal local produce and vegetables from our farm and surrounding producers. We can taylor cleansing weekends, give private yoga lessons on request and arrange therapeutic massages on site. Go for strolls down to the river, cycle to local wineries or embark on beautiful hikes in the Tararua Forrest Park. Or just unwind in a hammock.

The accomodation is decorated with mainly reclaimed materials to give an authentic yet modern farmhouse feel. The main bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, walk-in wardrobe, and on-suite bathroom with a large bath. The Kitchen has been designed around existing elements by a friendly french carpenter, and provides all you need to cook lovely meals from amazing Wairarapa produce. The living room looks out onto our olive grove and provides a cosy spot to relax by the wood fire. The kids/extra bedroom features a bunk-bed (180cm long) and a single bed. The porch is enclosed to provide shelter, and an outside dining area lets you enjoy hot summer nights with a Wairarapa wine - you are welcome to dine in the olive grove, too!

We are a working farm among other working farms, so although quiet and tranquil much of the time the country has its own repertoire of farm noises such as chainsaws, strimmers and tractors. Other noises include animals such as chickens, cows, sheep and roaring deer in the season. Please ask us to turn off electric fences if you are venturing down to the river with small children :)

Special conditions: No smoking on property, please. No pets (we have too many animals already!) Please advise of small children/toddlers, we are happy to put crockery etc out of reach :)

  • Lovely accommodation, clean and spacious

Lovely accommodation, clean and spacious. It is a little off the beaten track, but in a nice area.

  • The property was tidy, clean and had real character

The property was tidy, clean and had real character. It reminded me of a country cottage we stayed at in the UK. We liked the little details in the kitchen which had everything we needed. Having access to walk the farm and being part of a working farm were great. In spite of being active and only a short drive to the city, it still felt like a rural getaway. Looking forward to going back.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Delightful cottage in a very pleasant rural setting. Very well set up in most respects. Bathroon access through the master bedroom was fine for us, but wouldn't suit some groups. A microwave would have been welcome.

  • A beautiful setting, a warm, cosy cottage...

A beautiful setting, a warm, cosy cottage. Modern throughout, very clean, spacious living area, kitchen well stocked with all the equipment a family needs for a night or a few weeks! Thanks for the delicious free range eggs! Sandpit, chickens, cows and walks to keep children busy. Close to Masterton, about 10mins scenic drive. Have already recommended to F&F! Given 5 stars for its niche market :-)
