The 3 star rating was comparing it to luxurious accom many times the price. Value for money, Scarborough Fare is 5 star. We had a lovely time there - everything we needed was there - a great log fire which was really effective: a cosy place where we had the option to take our own bedding (we prefer that), and we really liked its very peaceful location. Great for active holiday makers - we took bikes, and we got to see a lot of Kaikoura without driving around. cheers, C&A
