The Apartment: 89A Carroll St is within walking distance of Dunedin City Centre (10 mins), lots to see and do. The place is spacious, well furnished, quiet, handy location. It's great for couples, business travelers, international students, families or groups.

We love Dunedin for its old-world architecture, the creative vibe produced by so many local artists and crafts people. Plenty of galleries for the size of the place! Its a gem set in a fantastic green and blue landscape of hills and ocean!

The Space: The apartment is over two floors. Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with its own ensuite. The third bedroom downstairs, with the main bathroom and laundry (including washing machine and dryer), and open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen areas. Entry is on the ground floor, with a front veranda and entertainment area with table and chairs. There are 2 security cameras outside at the front.

The Neighbourhood: Generally plenty of street parking, with parking outside the apartment. Lots of cafes and restaurants on the route towards the city, many open at 7.00am for breakfast. There are a number of art galleries this end of town, plus the Dunedin Public Art Gallery is on The Octagon. Although the cafes and city centre are quite close, if you don't wish to walk all the way it is usually possible to drive a bit closer and park.

There are two nearby supermarkets in town (slightly too far to walk) and another this end of town on Anderson's Bay Road.

Of course there are plenty of other eating places in town.

The regional outlet for tourist information ''I-site'' can be found on The Octagon next to the Town Hall, where you can book trips, or find information. There are, for example, regular scenic boat trips up the harbour, or scenic train trips to Taieri Gorge (takes a couple of hours) from Dunedin Railway Station.

    Pretty good location, walk into town if you're reasonable fit and able, lovely tidy property with character and plenty of space to spread out and decent living space. The bedding was lovely but the beds slightly too hard for our liking. The complementary bottle of wine in the fridge was a lovely touch The only problem we had was with noise from the downstairs flat on the Saturday night, drinking, doors slamming and burning a of a sofa.

  • Apart from the scaffolding outside the windows for 10 of the twelve...

    Apart from the scaffolding outside the windows for 10 of the twelve day stay, we had plumbing issues in two bathrooms, luckily we could use the vacant rooms, noise and a domestic from the downstairs tenants on the two Saturday nights, the unit is clean and without the scaffolding has nice views. The one car park is great as you cannot get any parking close by from 8am to 6pm Mon-Fri. We took glass bottles to the refuse tip as someone filled all recycle tubs overnight. Average unit for the price.
