Te Puia Lodge is not your average kiwi bach. Purpose built as holiday accommodation, the lodge is fully equipped to keep your holiday stress-free. Just meters from one of New Zealand’s most beautiful beaches – Hot Water Beach – located on the eastern seaboard of the Coromandel Peninsula, 30 minutes south of Whitianga. Hot Water Beach boasts a unique feature that attracts visitors from all around the world! This is of course the natural mineral hot springs that are exposed on the beach at low tide. Pick your spot and after a bit of digging with a spade you will have your very own hot spa pool on the beach.

Nestled in private gardens, Te Puia Lodge is perfect for people wanting to get away from it all. The modern kitchen and dining area seats six, perfect for warm winter dinners beside the fireplace. There is also a large table and ample seating on the covered deck for lunches or barbecues on hot summer nights. Families will enjoy the space as the lodge can sleep up to six people and offers the convenience of a contemporary bathroom, additional separate toilet, and laundry facilities. And of course plenty of spades, bath and beach towels. When the time comes to relax and unwind, retire to beds made for you with luxurious 100% cotton linen.

For your dining out pleasure head next door to tranquil Hot Waves Café. The cafe is built in earth brick and is nestled in an amazing native garden. And make sure to wander over to Moko Artspace, which houses beautiful contemporary New Zealand art and object.

The Coromandel region features some of New Zealand’s best beaches. With around 400km’s of coastline and over 100 offshore islands, it is one of New Zealand’s favourite marine playgrounds for diving, fishing and surfing. There are also many excellent bush walks throughout the local area. For a great day trip that is only a 5 minute drive from Te Puia Lodge, don’t miss the world renowned Cathedral Cove.

  • We loved our stay at Te Puia Lodge

We loved our stay at Te Puia Lodge. It had all the comforts of home - beautiful beds, wonderful kitchen to cook in, sky tv and outdoor area. Beautiful waking up to the Tuis in the trees. We were also 2 minutes walk from Hotwater beach and the other way the great Hot waves cafe that serves delicious food even in the winter. 2 days was too short. Would love to come back again.
