wonderful location, lovely garden with lots of natives and fruit trees, tui and kereru, about 10 min drive from a nice little sandy beach. the walk along the cliffs was great, but a bit challenging with the high grass and thistles. the nearest shops are quite far away, so we brought all our food with us - great that the fridge was big enough to hold it all :-) the cottage was comfy with carpet throughout, but smelt a bit musty. we stayed for a week and had a good rest.
We had a great time on the weekend, and the cottage is really quaint, clean and homely. We absolutely LOVED the views! It was great to have a place to stay close by to the wedding venue, and be able to mingle with the attendees on the Saturday and Sunday, and then return to the bach to rest in between. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
We spent two happy days and nights in the comfortable, warm (firewood provided!) historic cottage, with the only sounds being birds, and wind in the trees. Lovely natural surroundings. We would recommend it to any jaded city-dweller who craves some down time!
This is the perfect place to charge your batteries. When we arrived the fire was burning. The cottage warm and cosy with a huge pile of firewood ready for our use. Our host was obliging and generous with his local knowledge and history Everything we needed was there. If you're looking for new with the toys you have at home then this is not the place for you but if you value peace and quiet with native birds dropping by then go for it. We are already planning a return stay next winter.
