Small and special - visitors love it! A narrow strip of wilderness exists between you and the ocean. Stroll across the rustic boardwalk to the beach or out the front gate straight onto the reknown Coastal Cycle Track.

A great hideaway for a couple, a family, or group of friends. Spend the day with a book on the front deck, have your breakfast watching the sunrise or supper watching the moonrise, wake up with a morning swim, spend days siteseeing/wine tastings, tractor/overland to the gannets ... home to sound of dea and drink on the deck!

There's one double bed downstairs and a storage shelf (accessible by vertical ladder) which has small double and single mattresses on the floor. The kitchen is small but everything you need for a simple meal. There is a great local take-away shop with fresh fish and a range of other food, as well as a four square supermarket and Gannets Bar, all within walking distance, and a couple of local vineyards with quality restaurants.

Using the amazing network of Hawkes Bay Cycle trails, you can spend your days exploring the region on your own bikes or hire them when you arrive. Google 'HB Cycle trails' for maps and 'kidnappers escape' for local bike hire.

Haumoana is a great base from which to explore art deco city of Napier, the arts and wine trails of Hawkes Bay Wine Country, the city of Hastings and village of Havelock North (all just 12 km distance from Haumoana).

Or just kick back and enjoy the eclectic nature of the coastal communities of Haumoana, Te Awanga and Clifton (the Cape Coast) - cafes, artists, gannet tours (Oct-April), British car museum, restaurants, international award winning vineyards as well as the renowned Cape Kidnappers golf course (one of the top 10 in the world), farmyard zoo of Haumoana and Te Awanga (check local attractions out at beach walks, river and sea swimming, surfing, even throw in a line and maybe catch a kahawai!

We extended our stay to 8 nights after staying at the Noddy House last summer. It’s just perfect for me and my two daughters, providing a great base to explore the area. We love the proximity to the beach, daily swims with the locals, chats with Margot, biking the many trails also. We hope to stay again!
