Holiday rentals near Lake Kaniere

This is one of the best baches we’ve stayed in, and there have been quite a few. Very clean and well-equipped (with lovely pottery dishes), a deep tub with views paddocks to the bush-clad hills, and Netflix - but there are much better ways to spend sunny days, and this place is just down the road from the beautiful Hokitika Gorge, and the walking tracks all around there. It is on a main road, but traffic is infrequent and didn’t bother us or our young child. The resident weka is very cheeky, but also very nice to have around :) We’d also recommend the Woodstock Hotel, close by on the way to the Hokitika township - it’s pretty basic to look at but great food, craft beer and friendly staff.
