Motuoapa beach rentals

House was lovely - warm, comfortable and worked wonderfully for our large group.Great for the kids and the adults! Had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend.

Tidy wee Bach with lovely interior. Very well equipped and comfortable with a great woodburner. Nice to have the table tennis and darts in the garage for the kids after a day out tramping or skiing. Will consider again when coming back to the Great Lake region. Thanks

Classic kiwi family bach right by the lake and far enough from the main road to be tranquil and peaceful. With a modern kitchen and a log burner the house was always pleasant and even though we had a lot of rain during our stay, we still had a great time.If you are a fishing person this is absolutely the spot for you, but we aren't and still very much enjoyed our stay. Some of the house is looking a little tired (new paint needed, some doors not closing properly, tattered curtains), but this is exactly as every kiwi family bach I have ever stayed at. So much more personality than the average accommodation out there. Being equidistant between Turangi and Taupō meant we could choose either direction for shopping or food, and the well equipped kitchen made cooking "at home" a breeze. I felt like the owners actually use the house, and that makes a real difference in terms of what is provided.I bet it's great in summer and I would definitely consider coming back at that time of year to take advantage of the lake activities. Even if it rains you can have fun trying to count all the fish paraphernalia in the house.

We used the bach as a base to do the Tongariro Crossing, and enjoy a relaxing morning to celebrate a 50th birthday. Views of and 1min walk access to the lake were blissful. We loved the old-style bach with everything we needed, including a well-stocked kitchen, and lovely outdoor table and chairs to enjoy the sunshine and view. Would definitely come back here. Be aware that sound travels through then internal walls so if you have early risers mixed with late risers, put the late risers in the rooms that don't share a wall with kitchen!

My husbands grandparents built this Motuoapa holiday home in the mid 1950's. (Their photo is on the wall in the lounge) It was lovely for him and our family to spend a weekend there with a lot of reminiscing. It's changed some what over the years. It has a great location to the lake and walks in the area. We had 3 generations staying and it worked well with 2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 downstairs. We will definately be back.
