Paradise above Amalfi

My husband and I spent 3 lovely nights at this peaceful property. Silvia, our hostess, communicated well with us prior to and during our arrival. The room was beautiful, clean and in excellent condition. The accommodation Is above Amalfi town and follows the river up so that you hear the river at night. It is truly enchanting. We were served a beautiful breakfast each morning of organic produce and eggs, honey and pancetta from their farm. Silvia’s mother, Mena, made wonderful baked goods every morning. We would love to return someday. We recommend highly.

Just wonderful!

We had the most wonderful time at Fora Porta. We enjoyed every single day, especially the peaceful nature and the exceptional hospitality of Silvia and her family. Never felt more welcome anywhere in Italy.

THE BEST

I've never left a review of a hotel, air bnb or any other accommodation in my life but after the first day we could tell how amazing Fore Porta, Mena and Silvia were. The location is further up the mountain and on the route of one of the easier hikes. This means it's a bit of a walk up there but nothing to put you off staying here. As it is a bit further up it means you get the best view and you're really surrounded by nature and not tourists. Silvia, Mena and their whole family were excellent hosts and amazing cooks too! Breakfast and dinner was fantastic. Before i arrived i let them know i have a nut allergy and they were great about it, adapting recipes for me. I would 100% stay again, it really felt like we had struck gold with this.

Fijnste bnb aan de amalfi kust

Het was echt een te gek verblijf. De familie is erg aardig en gastvrij, het eten is erg lekker en allemaal zelf gemaakt en van hun land, de omgeving is prachtig en de boerderij ligt niet in het drukke centrum. Wij willen in ieder geval nog eens gaan.

Perfect vacation

Everything about my stay was excellent! The most beautiful location with incredible views, quiet surrounds, lovely family atmosphere, and reasonable hike into town. The service was exceptional with home made breakfast, complimentary organic lemonades, and friendly conversation. I would recommend staying here to anyone looking for an authentic experience and able to walk a decent amount of stairs. I have stayed in all kinds of Air BnBs around the world and this was my favorite! Thanks so much for everything Mena, Sylvia, Gino, and Gerardo! See you next time!

Great Stay In Amalfi!

We stayed here for 4 nights in June 2019. Our hosts Mena and Silvia made us feel incredibly welcome and catered for every need. The room has a small balcony with a view down to the lemon groves and river, with Amalfi town close by. The breakfast on the terrace was the best during our stay in Italy with plenty of home cooked fresh, organic food from their own farm. There is a 20-25 minute walk from the town (including 300 steps), so a level of fitness is required! We also decided to do the cooking class held on the Friday evening and learnt how to make pasta and lemon chicken and traditional Italian dessert. The antipasti (all from the farm), main course and dessert were delicious and was washed down with their own homemade wine and limoncello (also delicious) The farm restaurant is open most lunchtimes and serves more great home cooked food, fresh lemonade and lemon slush. The farm is located close the river and has fantastic views. There is a beautiful 20-minute walk up the valley passing dis-used paper mills, iron works and waterfalls. Visit the Nature Reserve at the top of the valley to see a spectacular waterfall, which is a must see if you are staying here. If you want to get away from the touristy side of Amalfi, then Fore Porta farm is the perfect place to stay. Thank you for a memorable stay in Amalfi! We hope to return again another year.
