Situated in the charming Edwardian town of Grange-over-Sands, The Old Post Office, Grange Fell offers traditionally presented and spacious accommodation, ideal for larger groups. Laid out over three floors, this characterful end terraced house, which dates back to the mid 1800s, is incredibly light and airy thanks to its high ceilings and well-proportioned rooms. On the ground floor there is a living room and an additional sitting room in which to relax, both of which have flat screen TVs. The front room is the most spacious with a large bay window, wooden floors and a lovely fireplace, whilst the sitting room, provides an alternative space to relax and unwind. Across the hall you will find a great dining room with a large table to accommodate 14 people. The dining room is open plan with the well-equipped kitchen, which has a large range cooker and breakfast area. There is also a separate utility room. On the first and second floors you will find six spacious bedrooms, two of which have en-suite facilities. There is also a family bathroom on both upper floors as well as a separate toilet on the first floor. To the rear of the property, accessed via 11 steps, there is a private lawned south-facing garden with patio and built-in BBQ, perfect for al fresco dining. Unlimited Wi-Fi, maps, books, games and DVDs are also provided for guests’ enjoyment. With so much space, this pet friendly home from home is ideal for reunions and get-togethers, close to all of the town’s amenities and surrounded by lovely scenery that Cumbria is famous for. True to its name, The Old Post Office has lots of vintage post office features and items which add interest and character to the property, such as the telephone box vestibule and vintage poster wall. The dining room features a huge wall map of the area. To the rear of the property there is an original feature wall mural for instagram opportunities as well as a pretty established and sunny garden behind the rear parking area.
The resort of Grange-over-Sands, which has a good selection of shops, bars, cafés and restaurants is just half a mile away and with plenty of parking at the accommodation you can leave the car behind and enjoy the amenities on foot. Perfect for those who love the outdoors, Grange Fell is located on the Sustrans Cycle Route, which provides easy access to the Cistercian Way. There are also lots of lovely walks from the doorstep and Grange Fell Golf Club is just a few minutes’ walk up the hill. Grange-over-Sands is a great base from which to explore the Lake District National Park. The quaint village of Cartmel with its famous race course, sticky toffee pudding and the Michelin starred restaurant L’Enclume is just a 5-minute drive away, or a half-hour walk over the fells. Kendal, Bowness and Windermere are all within a 20-minute drive. Beach 15 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
