AREA
Our Villa is set in a unique natural oasis surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and woods, in the amazing Tuscany countryside, far away from the hustle & bustle of the city, yet close to cities of historical and cultural interest such as Impruneta, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Greve in Chianti.
At less than 5 minutes’ drive you are at the nice village of Impruneta, where you can find supermarket, shops, pharmacies, bars, reastaurants, laundry and bus stop to Florence, if you do not want to drive. Every Saturday an outdoor market is held in the central square.
Located on the hills around Florence, Impruneta is an elegant town surrounded by a picturesque hillocks chain inserted in a setting of pine forests, houses and mansions.
Especially in the summer the central square is animated by the terraces of bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the tranquility and coolness of this pleasant place.
Its traditions date back to Etruscan; then the geographical position, soil potential and its proximity to Florence favored the birth of a Roman agglomeration.
The Marian shrine is definitely one of the factors that made the town famous.
The Buondelmonti square with its arcades of the late sixteenth century is worth a visit too.
This town has maintained a strong bond with Florence: first country residence of noble families such as Gherardini, Ricci, Rossi, Antinori, Corsini, then a holiday resort for many urban families, today the town and his country are preferred as permanently residence due to the special geographical location, ease of transport routes and optimal climatic conditions.
Impruneta is famous above all for the industry of pottery (called Terracotta of Impruneta), which here has a centuries-old tradition (in fact even Brunelleschi used it for its Dome), and the many olive groves that dot its hills and which give an excellent oil, produced in the numerous mills in the area.
In Impruneta you should visit at least the Basilica of Santa Maria, an old church in the Romanesque style, where you can admire the works of Della Robbia, Benedetto da Maiano and Gherardo Silvani. Also the Buondelmonti square with its arcades of the late sixteenth century, that houses the main city festivals, is worth a visit.
Other sights in the area are:
Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte, the classic example of a country mansion;
Church of San Lorenzo alle Rose, of ancient origin;
Church of S. Miniato in Quintole, the '300 church, famous for its terracotta facade.
During the year many festivals and cultural activities take place in Impruneta, such asthe traditional Fair of San Luca, which takes place every year in mid-October, and the Festa dell'Uva, which takes place every last Sunday of September.
In Chianti Area there are also many other typical villages to visit and very interesting food and wine itineraries.

About the host

Tourism has always been my passion and my "motto" is: feel at home, even far away from home.
Moved by a great love for travel and hospitality, I like to know new places and learn about different cultures and people.
But I also love to show you the beauty of Florence & Tuscany, how the locals "feel" this enchantable place, just to make you live unforgettable experiences to tell!
Looking forward to welcoming you!
