About this property
astis well living - tradition meets relaxation
In the heart of a quite traditional village of South Peloponnese in close proximity to Monemvassia, Elafonissos, Mani and numerous magnificent beaches there stands this 1920s spacious high ceiling stone house which is ideal for family or friend gathering, relaxation, contemplation or exploration of the surrounding touristic attractions.
The accommodation is the first floor of a typical stone house with newly insulated tiled roof, built in the decade of 1920. The house is located in the heart of Asopos village, opposite the village's church and square (plateia). As a result, there are times that the area might get lively (as there are several small shops, coffee shops, a grill-restaurant opposite the house, a traditional barber's next door, a bakery, a grocery or even travellers passing through the village to visit nearby beaches). Yet, since the village is not really big in terms of population, it can get very peaceful too.
Upon arrival, you enter the property though the communal garden with the traditional rain collecting well, the climbing jasmine's aroma and the shade of the typical vine pergola. Once upstairs and in the house, you find yourself into the main hall which may stand as a sitting room area or a place where you can relax, take a glimpse through the tiny veranda to the village's life near by, while enjoying your beverage or the space where the little community -family or friends- of the house reorganises its exploration accessories. A small bookcase full of crayons, pencils and paper at the far end of the hall can satisfy your artistic flair or keep preoccupied the little ones for quite a while.
The kitchen/dining area has a large table ideal for sharing, a ceiling fan for the hot days and access to the terrace. You can cook you all your meals there, grill your sandwiches, use the coffee machine, boil water for your tea or even mash your baby's dinner. There is always there extra virgin olive oil and olives (our own local production) and some basic dried food and herbs that will help you settle in. In the kitchen/dining area there is also a cd player and a small collection of cds to orchestrate your chill out in the terrace which overlooks the plain with the orange trees all the way to the sea.
Apart from the above, the house has a living room/fire place with a TV, reading books and several board games. All three rooms have their own stand alone air conditioning/heating units and enough space for your personal belongings. Two of the rooms have wardrobes for extra storage, where you can also find toys and beach accessories. There is also a study in the double bedroom. Finally, there also a crib in the largest bedroom.
