The cottage is clean, tidy, comfortable and convenient. The location is lovely and the bird-life outstanding. It was good to meet our genial host and learn a little more about the life of the farm.
The cottage was located on a working farm so always something going on . Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great when we were staying so couldn’t get as much done as we would have liked.
Comfortable traditional semi detached house. Everything to hand for our stay and attentive owners. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and were highly pleased with the property

This property was on a farm in a stunning location surrounded by great countryside and wildlife.
Lovely sandy beaches were within a short drive.
All our needs were met in the cottage which was very comfortable and very well equiped.
The host was very friendly and helpful as was the rest of the family on the farm.
A great place to stay to get away from it all.
A lovely cottage, carpeted throughout and beautifully equipped. It's on a farm, so the business goes on around the house, but it's remote, secluded and just a few hundred yards from a lovely bay into which the sun sets at this time of year. Our host communicated very well and was always available, making the whole process easy and ensuring our stay was delightful.
Lovely property, in a very scenic location. Fully equipped with everything we needed during our stay. Had an enjoyable week on the island, dispite the changeable weather.
Lovely warm welcome from David, our host. Welcome pack of goodies above average. Ideal location for exploring locally or further afield. Amazing for birds, flowers & wildlife. Stunning beaches…..loved visiting the iconic distillery buildings even though we don’t like the amber nectar.
What a brilliant place to stay! In between two beautiful beaches at the best side of Islay. The cottage was lovely and warm. It had all we needed and the owners are pleasant and helpful.
The property is a very well presented property. It is clean and tidy with all you would expect. This is the 3rd time we have stayed and it does not disappoint
This is a spacious, well looked after property in a remote and beautiful location. It has a well equipped kitchen, with a nice big fridge! Fabulous views from every window. The perfect place for our birdwatching, walking and exploring holiday.

It was a wonderful experience! The owner was very responsive and personable. We loved it!
Beautifully situated near a quiet beach with a mile walk to a stunning sandy beach. House is well equipped and simple set in a farm. Friendly and helpful owner..
If Heineken made cottages this would be one. Location, facilities, cleanliness all perfect. David met us at the house to ensure we knew how everything worked with welcome milk and biscuits. I will definitely be back
The property was exactly what we required. The position on the farm was perfect with a short walk to the cove. The cottage was well presented and everything worked. The Island is beautiful and the people were very friendly and helpful.
We had a great stay in this cozy house. The immediate surroundings are great: rural, but everything is still within easy reach. The host is very friendly and everything is there for a pleasant stay. Greetings to the nice neighbors, as well as to Mac and Frank!

About the host

I grew up on the farm and left the island in 1968 to further my education in Oban ,moving on to Rolls Royce to serve my apprenticeship as an engineer returning to Islay to help my ageing father run the farm. I married a local girl from Port charlotte and over the years we had two of a family . we have now retired to the village now and the cottage is now available for rent so you can enjoy this wonderful place where I was very fortunate to spend most of my life. Now I spend my time restoring old vehicles
Why they chose this property
Peace and quiet with beautiful surroundings and abundant wildlife next to the Atlantic ocean
