About this property

Sleeps up to 6 people. Access to the gite is over a patio area located across from the secure pool. The patio is equipped for outdoor dining and has a BBQ. The spacious open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area has a tiled floor with a comfortable seating area with French & English satellite TV, DVD, CD player and free wifi. There is a dining table with chairs and fully equipped kitchen with oven, induction hob, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The bathrooms and bedrooms are on the first floor: Both bathrooms have a shower, WC and a handbasin. Bedroom 1 has a king size oak bed with comfortable Ergoflex mattress, bedside tables, wardrobe, original timber floor and ceiling beams, complimented by a view out across the vineyard to the Canal. Bedroom 2 also has a king sized oak bed with comfortable Ergoflex mattress, bedside tables, wardrobe and features and views to match bedroom 1. Bedroom 3 is to the rear of the gite and is set up with twin beds, bedside table, timber floors and beams. The swimming pool has a security fence and plenty of sunloungers.

Wunderbarer Familienurlaub

Das Haus liegt ruhig aber dennoch zentral - alles, was man braucht ist in der Nähe. Wir waren mit vier Kindern dort und es hat allen super gefallen. Wendy und John sind tolle Gastgeber, die jederzeit erreichbar waren und uns tolle Tipps für Ausflüge gegeben haben. Wir hatten eine ganz tolle Zeit und können das Ferienhaus auf jeden Fall empfehlen!

Séjour calme et agréable

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour (du 8 au 15/08/2020) au sein de cette maison, l'accueil est les attentions des propriétaires étaient très sympathiques (livret qui regroupe toutes les informations à connaitre sur la maison et les environs, 2 bouteilles de vins à déguster). La maison était très fonctionnelle (vive les moustiquaires!!) et la localisation géographique est très bonne aussi pour les différentes visites à faire dans le secteur. Le canal du midi à proximité permet de belles ballades à pied ou en vélo (vélos adultes disponibles sur place ou possibilité de location). Nous avons également profité de la piscine dont la température était tout à fait adaptée à la météo! Il y a un lac à proximité qui nous a également permis de belles baignades (prévoir des chaussures car ce sont des galets partout). Il faut juste penser à réserver le restaurant à Homps et même à Olonzac le samedi soir car tout est plein!

Wonderful place for a holiday

We loved our time at this delightful place and only wish we could have stayed longer. There is a lot to see and do in the area plus it is fairly a fairly short drive to Narbonne and Carcassonne. The villages of Homps and Olonzac are close by with a number of restaurants to choose from. The house is well-equipped, comfortable, and clean, and the hosts were so friendly and welcoming. We would highly recommend this gite.

Séjour reposant près du canal du midi

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour, Wendy et John sont des personnes très accueillantes et bienveillantes et à notre écoute. Le gîte était propre, très bien équipé (chaise haute, torchons, savon pour les mains..., j'étais agréablement surprise). Le gîte est à l'écart du village donc au calme et la piscine est bien sécurisée (nous avons 2 enfants 3 et 5ans). Nous y reviendrons volontiers.

Initially we bought the property as a holiday home for our family, but quickly realised that we wanted to spend more time here, so renovated the old barn into 2 gites (one 3 bedroomed and one 1 bedroom gite) for holiday lets. We live next door to the gites, so we are nearby for assistance or sharing our knowledge of the area to enhance your holiday, should you wish it.

Why they chose this property

Les Arques Gites are in a peaceful location, surrounded by vineyards, yet within walking distance of two villages with several good restaurants. We are close to the Canal du Midi, so can watch boats navigate the nearby lock.
