4D Guest Ranch is located on 260 acres of rolling, wooded hills with adventure around every corner. It has 300 wild animals for our guest to view and photograph! Gemsbok, elk, several deer species, antelope, Llamas, sheep, goats, horses, and more. There are 2 stocked ponds that have catfish. The barndo is an amazingly unique rustic but elegant place to stay. The 5th bedroom has 2 twin set of bunks. It is an actual barn that has been modified to be a house. The original metal bar doors remain on the left side for their beauty . The bedrooms on the right side have sliding wooden doors for privacy. There is a full kitchen, a great room with a dining area, a living area and game room equipped with a pool table. The living area has plenty of comfortable seating and a 110' projection screen tv. There is also a Harmon Kardon Amp for blue tooth music. It is decorated beautifully with functionality and comfort in mind. Great place to disconnect and fantastic night sky view
My family spent 3 nights for a holiday break at the Barndo and had a great time. With 3 bathrooms, plenty of beds, and large amount of open space and seating for all seven of us, we enjoyed some time away from the holiday shoppers with quiet surroundings and nice night sky visibility. The 6-seater mule was a hit and we explored the grounds daily to see the livestock, ponds, and various deer and birds in the area. The kitchen was well stocked with gear to prep our Thanksgiving meal as well as a large dining table which provided more than enough space for our crew. Unlike most rentals, there is no keurig, just drip machine. Bring a telescope! We had a fantastic view of a meteor shower and had fun playing “spot the starlink satellites” over a campfire with s’mores. Things to keep in mind: I do not say “disconnect” lightly as a description. Internet access is minimal (email and texting access at most via guest WiFi at roughly 4-5Mbps download speed max). I highly suggest downloading offline maps of the area since cell-service is limited to one bar at best, if you have any signal at all. We had some delay to our arrival time and found it very challenging trying to find the front gate after sunset. The same is true if you want to play your own tunes; download your playlists in advance. All of this aside, our stay was a nice break from the all too often social media and news overload. If you really need some TV time, the DirectTV option offers plenty of stations.

Loads of Fun
Our stay was nothing but fun! Too many rides in the pasture to count! Exotics seen on every ride. Fishing provided many fun catches! Swimming, outdoor fire pit with smores, games of pool and foosball. Comfortable indoor living area. Comfortable outdoor seating. Plenty of room for large party to spread out in. Nothing but good to say. Surprised by supplied water, ice and wood! Everyone in our party left talking about wanting to return!

About the host

The original land, about 470 acres was acquired by parents, Roy and Joan Dudman for $55 per acre. They gifted the land to us in 1994 and we began plans for deer and horse breeding. Karen bred reining and roping horses of color, mainly buckskins. Her stallion was own son of Hollywood Dun It, the most winning horse of all time in dollars, over $20 million. The remaining mares roam the property in full retirement. We started deer breeding the same year, starting with one buck and eight does. Since 2008 we keep approximately 300 animals on the ranch. Our cattle are a cross between Corinthian and Texas Longhorn.

Why they chose this property

Our star show in the sky most nights is simply spectacular. It is because we are sixty miles to any large cities so the light and air pollution doesn't exist. Enjoy the beauty. We highly recommend you do take a tour of the ranch while you are here. Get a map and go explore. We have over 20 big animal species to see, and unknown numbers of birds and other critters. There are over 50 species of hummingbirds!

What makes this property unique

There is never a dull moment with all the activities available to you on the ranch. Viewing wildlife, fishing, cooking on an open fire, exploring on the mule or Hummer, self guided tours and star gazing.
