About this property

Gîte du Donjon, 16th century, private courtyard, between Beauval zoo and Chenonceaux

Old house of the sixteenth century of 200 m², located 3 minutes from downtown Montrichard walk.
In this house, bought mid-2017 abandoned and part of which is still being restored, rental of a comfortable cottage for 6 to 8 people. Walls in apparent stone or whitewashed, beams, half-timbered, beautiful fireplace.
Typical setting of the region (cellars in the rock, well, press, bread oven) on closed courtyard of 200 m2 where cars and motorcycles can be parked. Note: if desired, motorcycles can be parked in one of the cellars dug in the tufa surrounding the yard.
Access to the cottage is from the courtyard by a monumental staircase in stone of 23 steps (no disabled access).
On entering, a large living room has a dining room, kitchen and living room with sofa bed (bed 140 x 200) and TV, and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, ceramic hob with 4 plates of cooking and oven, fridge, table for 8 people and fireplace (inactive).
A corridor leads to the bathroom with bath and double sink, plus two toilets separated from the bathroom and a bedroom (bed 140 x 190 cm). A landing serves a second family room of 28 m2 with 4 beds (possible 5 if 2 children in bed-boat of 120 x 190).
In the yard, table for 8 people and parasol.

The house is located 2 minutes from the train station, 10 minutes from the pool or the beach (Montrichard has a beautiful sandy beach, very busy in season), 30 minutes from the Beauval Zoo (first zoo in France known for its pandas) and 15 minutes from the castle of Chenonceau (also accessible from the house by bike in 20 minutes by the banks of the Cher). First French destination for cycling tourism, along the Loire and the Cher.
