In this home you will find unmistakable original craftsmanship evident in its vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, original plaster walls, and original wood floors throughout.

Boasting a graciously refined and sophisticated interior with beautiful lighting and décor featuring art from local galleries thoughtfully bringing the sites, activities and landscapes from around the area inside the home.

Plentiful double-doors off the living room make this home naturally light and bright and perfect for indoor / outdoor living to enjoy the always superior weather here in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

The home features 3 bedrooms (KING/QUEEN/QUEEN), all with en-suite bathrooms, with an optional 4th bed with full bath doubling as a game room while offering the same privacy as any other bedroom, (if not more so) making it a great place for kids to be kids. (We offer either a King or 2 twin Air beds that can be set up in the game room space). All beds are top quality and are adorned with crisp linens and a variety of pillow options to suit the comfort of your personal taste.

All bedrooms complete with flat-screen smart TVs.

The game room, replete with ping pong table, and wet-bar features a swiveling 70" flat-screen TV for endless entertainment. The game room even offers direct access to the thoughtfully designed outdoor living space highlighted by a captivating succulent garden, plush yet sleek patio sofas, fire-pit, and even al fresco dining with seating for 8 people!

Solid rental but upgrades are needed

Overall our family enjoyed our stay at the property. Location was optimal for Carmel and surrounds. The property delivered all of the amenities it promised. On the downside, the property was generally very dated. The owners seem to be upgrading, but only in a piecemeal fashion. Windows and kitchen cabinetry are original 1940’s. If you’re into that sort of thing, then this is the place for you. However for the price, we wouldn’t do a repeat stay

Charming home close to town

We really enjoyed our stay at this house for a long weekend! The house was walking distance into town so we walked most of the time. The bedrooms all had en suites and the beds were really comfortable. We had plenty of towels and other toiletries to last us during our stay. The home is old but that just added to its charm. We had a great time!

Fabulous family time in beautiful Carmel

The four of us stayed at this amazing house for four nights as part of our three week West Coast road trip. The house is beautifully appointed, and a very relaxing environment to be in: we all relaxed immediately upon arrival and felt at home. Great location for leisurely walks back and forth to town, and convenient for the main road to Big Sur and Los Lobos State Park.

Gorgeous house with amazing location

The property location is really fantastic and only minute from downtown Carmel. The house is gorgeous and we loved the inviting communal spaces, both inside and out. Everything was clean, well maintained, and functional. The beds were super comfortable and after long, active days we slept great. Can't say enough positive things about the property as well as the owner. 100% would return and enthusiastically recommend.

Great for Girls Trip

Our group had a great stay! The beds were comfy, the house was so cute and clean and location was quiet but still close to town. I just wish the listing made it a bit more obvious that the twin beds were air mattresses not real beds. It was only stated in the “fine print” which we should have read closer.

Beautiful home close to stores and restaurants in downtown Carmel, not to mention top golf courses. Ashley and house manager were very friendly and helpful! Loved our stay, looking forward to returning in the future.

Beautiful home and absolutely perfect location. Walk to everything in Carmel-by-the-Sea. We were attending the Indy races at Leguna Seca - even hosted one of the drivers - who also loved to place.

Amazing!

One of the best VRBOs I’ve rented. Great amenities, location was centrally located with a short walking distance to town, and large enough for our group. Communication with property manager was great and timely. Would easily rent again.

Very special home with history. Lots of space for cozy nights. It's well appointed. Kitchen is outdated but has dishwasher. Only real issue is lack of counter space.

An architectural gem.French doors in every room lead to a gorgeous private patio. Very private and beautifully landscaped. I would give this property five stars in every category but for $1000/ night( plus the additional vrbo fees) it could use a refresh( kitchen, outdoor furniture, game room bathroom). Otherwise an ideal home. Great location.

Lovely time in Carmel

We very much enjoyed our stay at Ashley's home in Carmel. The layout of the home allowed the five of us both to spend time together and to retreat for privacy when any of us so wanted. While close to the highway, we did not notice the street noise at night or while visiting in the house. Restaurants and shopping are just a 15 minute walk away, so we were able to leave our cars behind and walk everywhere. We'd be happy to stay here again.

WHAT A GEM!

Beautiful home in a great location! Very spacious and loved the fact that every room had its own bathroom and shower! We walked into town every day and enjoyed everything Carmel by the Sea had to offer! Spent some time in Monterrey as well and it was a quick 10 min drive into Downtown Monterrey. We would highly recommend and would definitely book again! The host was extremely friendly and responsive. 5 Stars all around!

Great home base in Carmel

We stayed here to attend the AT&T Pebble Beach tournament for my husband's birthday. It was a fantastic little home. More than enough space for 6 of us to spread out and enjoy the cozy nooks and comfortable sofas. We used the hot tub, fire pit and fireplaces every night. The neighborhood is quiet and private and everything worked well once notified of a few little quirks. It was a fantastic stay! I would highly recommend this property.... lots of lovely details: amenities provided, firewood, high quality furnishings, etc.

The cutest Carmel house

The stay was wonderful (the bed sheets and beds were even better). The house had a super adorable old school Carmel feel. The only small complaint was that there was no shampoo anywhere in the house. There was conditioner and body wash but no shampoo. Otherwise fantastic.

Beautiful home in wonderful location

This house was just perfect for a chilled get away weekend for myself and my girlfriends. It was really full of character, large and had 3 good sized bedrooms with plenty of space to hang up or put away clothes. The games room was the icing on the cake - a great space to hang out! There was easy parking for 2 large cars and it was minutes to get to downtown Carmel driving. The gardens were stunning, there was superb outdoor space which we managed to sit out a bit in despite the cool weather. Sadly we didn't get round to using the hot tub but it looked great too! The check in process was flawless and the check out couldn't be simpler either. The host was communicative and helpful. Honestly couldn't fault it.

We had 3 couples stay at this home. We enjoyed our stay but would like to see some improvements Key Pros 1. All beds and sleeping were very comfortable 2. Outdoor seating with gas fire pit was great 3. Electronics ( xfinity and WiFi worked great) Cons 1. Close to but challenging walk to downtown Carmel due to elevation change 2. House is clean but dated. Could stand updating. 3. Kitchen is very basic and needs more supplies like utensils, cocktail glasses, ice bucket etc Overall We enjoyed our stay and would consider renting again

Perfect house for our girls trip in Carmel-by-the-Sea!

Ashley's house was perfect for our girls trip this past weekend. The fire pit and hot tub were a big hit, and we loved the easy proximity to town - just be ready for the booty busting climb back up the hill! Access was easy and the bedrooms are very well appointed, each with their own bathroom. Loved the big windows - the house always felt airy and bright. Only small things of note are that the kitchen was short on wine glasses for a house of 8 people, and the flatware holder was broken, but other than that the house was flawless. We also had an issue with a team of landscapers being onsite when we checked in, as well as early the next morning for the entire day, so we felt like we couldn't be outside or use the hot tub. We went out for most of the day though so wasn't too much of an impact, and Ashley was very quick to respond and eager to help make our stay comfortable. That said, to us these were very minor inconveniences, so overall I would say 5 stars and I hope to stay again in the future! Thanks, Ashley!

neglected treasure

our stay was upsetting and disappointing. Two of my sisters had to strip and launder their sheets upon arrival because their beds had not been changed. There was no barbecue. The fireplaces could not be used. The fire pit outside was pathetic. The kitchen is underwhelming. both the kitchen and bathrooms were not well stocked. the manager is not a good communicator. The home is visibly neglected and there is deferred maintenance, inside and out. there was a rancid bottle of red wine left for us as a gift. The entire home was generally unclean, especially the game room where I slept. The sofa was covered with dead ladybugs and fish crackers were mashed into the carpet and underneath every cushion of the sofa. lastly, the traffic noise from Hwy 1 disturbed our sleep. My sisters and I have been awaiting this reunion for several months. We will never stay at this property again. at this price point, the house should have been pristine. But the pictures were deceptive and the property descriptions were not updated.

Great stay!

We had a wonderful time staying at this adorable house in Carmel! It gives a lot of father of the bride vibes! The space was great for us and location was perfect. Ample driveway parking and overall met our needs! Only feedback is that the home is advertised as sleeping 8 when in fact it has two extra air mattresses to substitute for not having a fourth bedroom. This was very misleading in the listing, especially since we were exclusively searching for a property that sleeps 8. I would recommend adjusting the listing to sleeps 6 with the flexibility to add a seventh and eighth. If we had realized this, we would have probably booked elsewhere since no one wants to be the person stuck on an air mattress all weekend for the price we were paying. This description was very hidden in the listing. The last thing that was a bit of an bummer was the fire pit outside did not work for us. It could have been the igniter but we did not have a lighter to try to get it going. Was a little bummed to miss out on utilizing this. Overall though, we had a great time and appreciate the host for accommodating our early check in request.
