There are a large variety of coffee shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants nearby and it's only a few minutes’ walk to “William Shearer’s” which offers a huge variety of whole foods, locally baked bread, cakes, milk and fresh “Orkney” fish and meat.

Excellently located in the centre of Kirkwall, which is the largest town situated in the heart of the Orkney mainland and therefore a fantastic base from which to explore St Magnus Cathedral, Earls Palace, Scapa beach, Highland Park and Scapa Whisky Distillery and also for heading out West to Stromness to the Neolithic Sites, Skara Brae, Masehowe, Standing Stones of Stenness or to the East Mainland of Orkney to the Italian Chapel, Churchill Barriers from the WW2 and lots more.

Also with regular boat trips daily from Kirkwall harbour to the outer isles of Orkney, you can explore places such as; Westray, Papa Westry, Eday, Stronsay, Wyre, Shapinsay, Rousay and more.
