In the territory of the Alto Salento, at the entrance to the Itria valley, near Ceglie Messapica, within 3 hectares of land rises the "IL GELSO" trullo immersed in a luxuriant countryside of secular olive trees, almond trees and fruit trees, where the sounds of nature mark the rhythms of the day. An ideal place for those who appreciate the healthy air and love silence and tranquility. The trulli have been restored with original limestone, respecting the Apulian building tradition. Particular attention has been paid to the use of non-polluting finishes and treatments.
The trullo, dating back to 1600, consists of 4 cones and a lamia with a barrel roof. Inside the cones stones have been left exposed and the flooring is of ancient chianche. The trullo inside consists of two double bedrooms, a living room with a sofa bed, the kitchen with a fridge, a four-burner cooktop, a microwave oven and all the kitchen utensils, a table with chairs. The bathroom has all the facilities, shower cabin, boiler, hair dryer. Outside, on the aia of ancient chianche, there is a stone barbecue for the chairs, a table and an umbrella.
The consumption of water, electricity, gas, bed linen, bath and kitchen are all included.
The stay runs from Saturday to Saturday with arrivals at 16.00 and departures at 10.00.
In the morning it is nice to be able to choose between the Adriatic coast at 15 km and the Ionian coast at 28 km. Those who prefer to get around can quickly reach Ostuni, the fascinating white city at 11 km, Ceglie Messapica, for gastronomy at 3 km, Martina Franca, for the baroque at 18 km, Alberobello, the capital of the trulli at 33 km, Cisternino famous for its "stoves" (butchers with attached oven) at 16 km, Castellana Grotte at 49 km, Grottaglie, for ceramics at 20 km, the WWF park at 22 km. In the evening then you can return to the trullo to dine under the stars and continue the evening walking around the ancient villages, with music, aromas and flavors.
