Apartment overlooking Lac du Vonnes Chatel, Porte du Soleil - fantastic location

Our family apartment is in a brilliant location for both skiing in the season and enjoying the pretty Lac du Vonnes it overlooks in the summer
The apartment is larger than a standard one bedroom apartment in the block as it was originally built as a two bedroom apartment.
The new Vonnes lifts are 200mts away! These lifts will give you access to either gateways to the Porte Du Soleil
It is a short walk to the pretty, unspoilt village of Chatel with numerous bars and restaurants offering an excellent selection of both traditional and modern cuisine.
As a family we have enjoyed the fantastic skiing throughout the Portes du Soleil (the largest skiing region in Europe) and in the summer it has given us opportunities to discover everything from visiting goats villages and rafting to the more traditional walking and cycling activities that are amazing throughout the area.
There is also a great swimming pool / Spa in the village with a free local bus that travels around the Chatel/Linga / Pre- La -Joux area.

We have a fairly spacious double bedroom with a wardrobe - double duvet and pillows included
There are two fold down bunk beds in the hall area (very typical in French apartments) each with single duvet and pillow

Bathroom - bath with shower, wash basin with cupboard and a washing machine
The kitchen / lounge area is really cosy and is newly refurbished.
It is fully equipped with everything you are likely to need for your stay.

WiFi is included through Bouygues Telecom (fibre internet)
There is a DVD player
We have just installed a Smart TV so you will be able to watch any channels you subscribe to.

There is a HDMI lead currently attached to the DVD player that can be used to stream any programs from your devices.
There is also a CD and audio output that can be used to plug your devices in for music.

The large sunny wrap around terrace with table and chairs has a magnificent view of the mountains - lovely to watch the sun eventually disappear with a glass of something!
As it is our family apartment we would only be happy to accommodate couples and families of four. There is a children playground around the lake.

Free parking outside the apartment and a cave is just by our door to store skies

Why they chose this property

Brian and I have skied for far too many years to mention, but as our family grew we realised it would make sense to have our own place as a second home for both summer and winter skiing.
We looked at many resorts but totally fell in love with Chatel as soon as we saw it.
Chatel is so pretty.
In the summer the traditional farming village has a lovely atmosphere along with fantastic festivals such as Belle Dimanche which includes the most beautiful cow competition in the mountains!
In winter the skiing area is so vast we have never been bored as the range of mountain bars and restaurants are unbelievable as you ski from France to Switzerland and back constantly.
In recent years the new trendy bars and "Rock the Piste" festival have added to the fun on the slopes. Every year there appears innovation to improve the facilities and enjoyment for guests visiting Chatel which is great to see and confirms commitment to keep improving the region.

What makes this property unique

Ask anyone who has skied the Porte du Soleil and they will tell you how amazing the ski area is and in the summer the variety of activities will keep everyone in the family happy.
With a wonderful view over the lake and down the valley, the terrace is a fabulous place to have dinner watching the sun go down and when the snow falls the apartment is so cosy.
There is a Multi pass that guests can purchase in the summer season which enables guests to access local facilities (lifts, activities etc) at reduced rates.
