Just 21 miles from historic Charleston, Kiawah Island is nestled in semi-tropical wilderness, picturesque marshes with ten miles of wide, unspoiled, golden beaches. Our lovely cottage is conveniently located in West Beach with only a 5-7 minute walk to the ocean and private pool. Cougar Point Golf Course is right across the street where you can watch the players on the 18th green from the adirondack chairs or enjoy a meal in the brand new Clubhouse. Tennis courts, are also nearby at the award winning Roy Barth Tennis center. Enjoy a leisurely bike ride over the marsh to the many shops and restaurants at Freshfields marketplace. Watch the wildlife while lounging on our deck above the lagoon watching beautiful sunrises and gazing at the ocean in the distance. Our guest book in the living room is filled with enthusiastic accolades from our valued guests, many of whom return each year. We invite you to make our Kiawah home your vacation home as well.

Three parking spots are provided for your convenience.

Well behaved dogs are welcome at no extra cost. Sorry, cats are not accepted due to allergies.

Stayed over the 2025 Christmas week. Wonderful location. Just a short walk or bike ride to the beach (5 min or less walk). Amenities were excellent and Sandy was more than available to assist and look after our stay. We hosted family for one night and had plenty of chairs, table space, and kitchenware to accommodate. We look forward to staying again!

Such a great location!

This house is in a great location - easy 5 min walk to the beach, golf, pool, etc. And if you have tweens/teens, it's an easy bike ride to Fresh Fields too (which they loved)!

Great location and exceptional host. Just a quick walk to the beautiful beach. There are several beach chairs, toys, and umbrellas to borrow which was a great plus. The pool was nearby and easy to walk/bike to. We very much appreciated that our dog was welcome. We will be booking at this property again. (A bonus: our son saw a sea turtle nesting one evening - can't beat that!)

Kiawah family destination

This property is well equipped and has a nice layout, with the bedrooms in the corners surrounding the living area all on the second floor. Our family especially enjoyed the swimming access at the shaded community pool (as well as the ocean, of course) and the many games and puzzles.

Comfortable condo with a short easy walk to the beach. Beach chairs and wagon at the condo were a big plus. Cooking pan in kitchen were unusable (scorched or flaking teflon). Luckily we brought 2 pans with us. Otherwise it was a great rental.

Perfect Place To Relax

We throughly enjoyed our week on Kiawah Island. The home was perfect for our party. Plenty of space to spread out. Lots of amenities, including all the basics. It's becoming more difficult to find places that allow dogs and this was perfect. Short walk to beach. Close to Charleston. Loved Magnolias and Muse restaurants there. Hope to return.

Wonderful stay

My father, Joe Kay, although born in Lakeland, FL, grew up in South Carolina. After highschool in Moncks Corner, he graduated from the Citadel in 1953. My husband and I were introduced to Kiawah in 1979 and encouraged Daddy to come check out the beautiful island only 21 miles from Charleston. He purchased The Treehouse in 1986 and has shared it with renters every since!

Recently updated and refreshed, the Treehouse is your home away from home. Enjoy lounging on the new deck overlooking the life in the lagoons below. Just a 2 minute walk finds you at the brand new Cougar Point clubhouse where you can enjoy a meal, watch sporting events or play a round of golf. Our guests keep telling us how much they enjoy all the extra amenities we provide so you have few extra things to bring from home. We strive to make our place your home away from home! We love dogs and want you to bring your 4 legged children with you to enjoy (please bring their beds so that they will feel at home). Dogs can run free on the beach from October - March. Other months, you can still enjoy the beaches with your dogs on leash.
