About this property

Delightful 2-Bed home, Fulham

Summary:
This is a gorgeous 2 bedroom house, nestled in bustling Fulham. Recently refurbished, this house is wonderfully decorated and comfortable, promising to be the ideal base for your trip to London. Guests here can take advantage of the garden patio on a warm summer's day with an outdoor lunch or a sundowner in the evening, stroll along to Fulham Broadway for a wealth of restaurants and shops, just minutes away.

The Space:
There are two double bedrooms, both of which have a king sized bed. They share a fantastically spacious bathroom which boasts both a shower and a bath.

There is also a fully equipped kitchen, which is connected to the dining room. This then leads out to the garden patio.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire property, except for some cupboards which may be locked.

The Neighborhood:
Local Amenities:
Groceries – Fulham residents are spoilt with an expansive selection when it comes to grocery shopping. With the option of plenty small local supermarkets including Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Whole Foods market and Tesco, there is a large Sainsbury’s superstore on Townmead road as well as a Tesco superstore on West Cromwell road.

Gym – The choice of parks and sports facilities in Fulham may mean that you don’t feel the need to go to the gym, but if you would prefer to exercise indoors there are a range of fitness centres and swimming pools for you to choose from, including Nuffield health, Fulham pools and EasyGym Fulham. Use the PayasUGym website to find the gym facility most local to you.

Shops – Fulham is a great destination to browse as it has an abundance of little streets filled with gems ranging from antiques to boutiques – have a wander!

Going out:
Food – If you are looking for food, you won’t have to look far because Fulham is spoilt for choice whatever meal of the day. There are numerous Gastropubs dotted around Fulham providing a selection of fine food and beers, try out The Harwood Arms, The Malt House or if you fancy something along the river, give The Crabtree a visit.
Cafes are plentiful, if you want a good brunch take a wander down to Parsons Green or New Kings road and take a look at the menus, there are cafes to cater to all tastes.
It would be extremely hard to highlight only the best restaurants in Fulham as there are just too many to pick from. You can find a variety of chain restaurants in Fulham Broadway including Pizza express, Nando’s, and Yo sushi, but with heaps of independent eateries around, why play it safe? We recommend scouting the Fulham road and New Kings road area for something nice on the menu.

Bars – With plenty to choose from you’ll find bars and pubs in abundance scattered throughout Fulham. Take your pick, we would recommend visiting Parsons Green where there are a number of well-known pubs around the area such as the popular White Horse, (known locally as ‘The Sloaney Pony’), the Duke on the Green and Amuse Bouche.

For a night out you will find a buzzing nightlife and an array late-bars and clubs including the renowned Embargo Republica on the border of Fulham and Chelsea, along the Kings road.

Shopping:
Fulham is known for its wide collection of great shops, from high-end fashion, independent hardware shops and vintage furniture shops, Lillie Road has a variety of choice. Fulham Road runs parallel to the King’s Road and is a shopping haven for the ‘Sloane Rangers’, with Sloane Avenue an offshoot of Fulham Road. It Runs from South Kensington tube stop down to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. You’ll find specialist interior designers, antique dealers and vintage boutiques in abundance here.
North end road is a market road filled with a variety of fresh produce, from meats to fruit and vegetables. You’ll also find stall selling little knickknacks and home ware products, if you want a real market feel have a wander down here.

What’s on:
Parson’s Green Farmers’ Market – Held once a week every Sunday from 10am-2pm at St. Thomas’ Academy on New Kings road, Parson’s Green Farmer’s market is the culmination of locally sourced fresh British produce, offering Organic vegetables from Eden Farms and Wild country Organics, lovely fruit and juice from Chegworth Valley, rare breed poultry from James Evans and tasty sour dough breads from Oliver’s Bakery.

Neverland is an impressive ‘bring your own bottle’ venue located on Wandsworth bridge road, in the summer it becomes London’s very own urban beach – boasting sand, beach huts, deck chairs and creates the ultimate summer vibe. During the winter months it transforms into Winterland, an enchanted winter forest with neon lit curling lanes, alpine mini golf, heated igloos and lodges, cosy fur-lined sofas, fondue and feasting tables.

Sport:
Football – Fulham is home to not just one, but two football stadiums. Craven Cottage, host of Fulham F.C. and Stamford Bridge, host of Chelsea F.C are two of the most traditional football clubs in London – why not share an ultimate match day experience? Immerse yourself amongst the passionate local supporters with a choice of two teams. Fulham F.C. sadly slipped down into the Championship a few seasons ago but remains up there as one of the most authentic and family friendly teams. Chelsea F.C. however are battling it out for the Premier League title so be sure not to miss out on a fiery game with The Blues.

Tennis – For any Tennis fans, take a trip to Queen’s Club in North Fulham which hosts the annual AEGON Championship and is also the national headquarters of real tennis, hosting the British Open every year. If you fancy playing some tennis yourself there are many courts scattered around Fulham including Hurlingham Park, South Park and the entrance to Fulham Palace.

Polo – If you find yourself in Fulham in the month of June don’t miss out on the annual Polo in the Park held in Hurlingham Park for one weekend of the year. The event boasts an international clash of Cities in a simplified tournament of Polo in search for the reigning champions, you may even find a few celebrities at this event.

Parks & Green Spaces – Fulham is lucky to benefit from plentiful green and open spaces which is not very common this close to Central London. These include Parsons Green, Bishops Park, Eel Brook Common, South Park, Hurlingham Park, and Imperial Park. Much of the Thames Path is also intact, giving wonderful access to the River.

History and architecture:
Fulham’s rural heritage can be easily forgotten when looking at it today. Many of Fulham’s historic structures fell prey to industrialisation, World War bombing and demolition and redevelopment. One of Fulham’s most notable surviving sites is the ancient estate of Fulham Palace, the seat of the Bishops of London. The remains of this artefact with its medieval and Tudor features, alongside the remnants of the grounds is now divided between public allotments and a park with a Kitchen garden and the part-excavated longest moat in England. Much of the stock in Fulham is a testament to the vigorous 19th C. industrial and urban development, most of this are low rise buildings which utilised the brick-field that were abounded locally at the time. An unlisted vestige of the early industrial era is the 1826 remnant of Gunter’s canal bridge, still visible from platform 4 at West Brompton station.

Fulham Broadway Station: Underground (District line), 10 minute walk from the home.

Great Time!
We stayed here for a week with our 17 y/o son, used this as a base for exploring London. Its a short (6-8 min) walk to one of 2 tube stops. Its near many restaurants, grocers, and other amenities. The house itself was very comfortable, the road is quiet. The kitchen is great, and we enjoyed the outside patio. Having the washer/dryer was great as well. Highly recommend.
