The Varoter Design Venetian Studio was a unique place to stay, close enough to the center of the city, and far enough away to escape the intense foot traffic and noise of the main areas. The place was as advertised with some quirks worth noting. There is mirror mounted to the wall in the loft that even our host noted was suspicious to many guests, as it was to us. It caused discomfort for me and my spouse as it absolutely did not fit the space, and looked translucent. It was weird and suspicious. Additionally, a local ordinance prohibits using any heat until October 15th, and a little heat was needed, making the place uncomfortably cold all the time with no remedy. The staircase is amazing hardwood, but steep and with a modern glass railing. Cool to look at, but not for anyone who is not agile and fit to navigate it.With that, it was a good place to venture from with a water taxi pickup/dropoff at the hotel next door making access to/from the train station and anywhere else easy. With so many options to stay in Venice, we would make another choice next time, but wou.
