Red Barn Cottage, A World Away in Historic Victorian Ferndale

The Red Barn Cottage is located within walking distance of the historic, Victorian village of Ferndale. The Cottage is a charming, separate studio with a private entrance, gated patio, full kitchen and bathroom. Enjoy exploring Ferndale, the nearby Pacific Ocean, majestic redwoods, and lush farmlands. The fairgrounds are only one block away and downtown Ferndale is 4 1/2 blocks away. This space is perfect for a couple or a family with one child. We have a folding bed, if needed, for your child. A small dog is considered with approval and an additional $50 nonrefundable pet fee.
The Cottage is a separate studio with a private entrance, gated and fenced patio, full kitchen and bathroom. It has a homey atmosphere with all the amenities of home, including a queen size comfy bed, WiFi and Cable TV. Your comfort is our top priority! Continental breakfast items and snacks are complimentary. A Keurig coffeemaker and quality coffee and teas are included. We try to think of everything to make sure that your stay with us is relaxing and memorable!

Ferndale gem

We stayed here for 2 nights to run the half marathon at avenue of the giants. The red cottage is beautiful, the bed was comfortable and cozy, the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the muffins and treats were awesome. It was a great place to have some R&R. We highly recommend this wonderful gem.

Charming Cottage Stay

There were so many nice touches, including fresh flowers, wine and treats in the refrigerator. We felt like we were staying with dear friends. I highly recommend staying here.

So cute!

We really enjoyed our stay (3 nights)! Our hosts provided everything you could need and then some. The location was perfect for exploring Ferndale and the surrounding areas. We would highly recommend this adorable cottage and we will definitely come back to this special place next time we are up this way!

Cozy cottage

This is one the best experiences I've had. Excellent location, surrounded by peacefulness, yet close enough to walk into town. The cottage felt warm and inviting. The host did amazing in ensuring we had a comfortable and relaxing stay. Excellent communication with the host. I highly recommend.

Sweet Ferndale Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at the Red Barn Cottage. Perfectly located in quiet neighborhood and walking distance to town. What a hidden gem! The cottage is fully stocked with everything you need, and more. And so nice they welcome pets too! We will definitely plan on staying here again next time in Ferndale.

Spotlessly clean, a well-furnished kitchen, soft towels, comfortable bed and little niceties like candies, pod coffee choices and a bottle of wine on the counter. I was pleasantly surprised and would return in a heartbeat.

Our two night stay couldn't have been better! This is the cutest little house & the owners (Lynne & Lee) welcomed us with so many extras (a bottle of EXCELLENT red wine, homemade muffins, fresh ground coffee, milk, cream, biscotti, eggs, juice, etc. - all waiting in the refrigerator). The location is an easy walk to restaurants and shops. We'll definitely return!

Beautiful cottage

We had a wonderful 5 days in Ferndale. The cottage was perfectly clean. Everything we needed was provided. It is obvious that the owner thought through all of the details. We feel rested and ready to face the world again.

Marvelous!!

In the guest book before us, someone called the Red Barn Cottage a "well-apportioned masterpiece," and I have to steal that description because it is so apt! It's beautiful and luxurious and marvelously comfortable, in a lovely and peaceful setting. All the logistics and cleanliness and food (note: ridiculously good home-baked muffins!) and so on were perfectly smooth, too. A great stay!!

7th Anniversary Trip

This was our second stay at the Red Barn Cottage and it didn't disappoint! It was as lovely with the attention to detail that we experienced the first time. Fresh eggs, homemade pumpkin choc chip muffins and all the fixings for breakfasts were at the ready. We were pampered in this serence and quiet getaway cottage. Thank you, Lynne and Lee, for the beautiful anniversary flowers and card! This cottage is truly a gem!

Soo Welcoming!

This place was so clean and well maintained. The patio area was lovely. Plenary of towels. Washer/Dyer easily accessible. All the things you would need to cook and even some food basics like eggs, milk, butter, filtered water, and Kureg. There were even fresh flowers and a bottle of wine. I highly recommend this place if your coming to this area.

Quaint Cottage with All the Amenities

This quaint cottage offered peace, quiet and rest as we celebrated a very special birthday! Very comfortable bed with soft layers and plush pillows. We were pampered in every way! Fresh cut flowers and Meyer lemons from our hosts' yard. Nothing was overlooked and every detail considered to pamper and welcome us to Ferndale! We HIGHLY recommend this cottage to all who need rejuvenation and rest! Wishing all the best for these wonderful hosts!

Fantastic Find

Red Barn Cottage was fantastic. Upon arrival we quickly saw Lynne had anticipated our every need. The Cottage was filled with small but thoughtful "extras". We wanted to spend time with the Redwoods and this location was perfect for our daily adventures. The cottage, cozy but not too small. We had dreaded the idea of a hotel for multiple days since we had already been travelling over a week. The cottage allows us to settle, unpack, and reorganize in a very lovely spot and great value. We will definitely return.

Red Barn Gets 5 Stars!

This was the most personal experience we have had. Without intrusion our hosts thought of every need. There were sweet smelling roses, wine, breakfast fare, candies and cookies. We had our own patio and a washing machine and dryer. The decor was granny cottage and so much fun. As we are in our mid seventies and eighties we have decided no more 12 day road trips but we ended on a high note!
