This was my fourth time renting the casita. I love its view and location. The mountains are a beautiful sight to wake up to, and it's a convenient trip to stores and restaurants. I highly recommend it.

A wonderful time in an adorable little casita!
Very peaceful and private. The views of the Organ mountains and the valley were incredible. My dogs were safe in the fenced in area and we could be outside and not get wet when it rained! Loved the beautiful southwestern environment.
This property is in a beautiful neighborhood and has unbeatable views that includes a desert, mountains, and the city of Las Cruces. It's a convenient distance to excellent hiking and to businesses of every kind. The casita itself is cheerful and well-appointed and the landlords very obliging.
Peaceful, private, comfortably furnished, fully equipped, with a large patio and great views over the Mesilla Valley and Organ Mountains. Marian and Dick are gracious and generous hosts. The roadrunners, jackrabbits and quail are a bonus :)
Dick and Marian made us feel like old friends come to visit. Our dogs made friends with theirs and Marian treated ours like they were their own pets, always welcome in their yard and in the house. The casita has enough privacy and the view is to die for. Since we are now residents of Las Cruces, we look forward to seeing them often.
Great stay, views are best feature of this property in very nice and quiet area. Clean and functional with nice outdoor area to relax. Owner is right next door but not intrusive, feel as if you have private accommodations. Just outside of town but close to everything in town. Only good for 1 or 2 people as the size is a little small, esp. the bedroom. Not a problem for us, we'll definitely be back.
This is my third time renting the casita, and I love it. You won't beat the views, the location is close to a lot, and the neighborhood is one of upscale homes spread out from each other with lots of natural beauty in between. The place offers a lot of privacy, but is an easy drive to coffee shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and hiking. The kitchen has everything that you need (I never wanted a blender so don't know if it had one), and the landlords are friendly. Highly recommend.
The casita was charming, clean, and well-stocked with kitchen and bathroom necessities, and the view from the porch overlooking Las Cruces and the Organ Mountains was spectacular. Our hosts were welcoming, helpful, and most gracious, even leaving a chilled bottle of a good white wine, with glasses, in the fridge for us. The area was quiet, safe, and relaxing. And yes, there were jackrabbits, roadrunners, cacti and quail! We were there during the summer, so the days were very hot, but the casita was kept cool inside by two efficient air conditioners. In the evening, temperatures dropped and it was nice to sit on the porch. The casita is out of the way, on the outskirts of Las Cruces, but conveniently close to stores and restaurants. We would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quiet, clean, accommodating, and quaint get-a-way.
I found just what I was looking for. I knew the area and the fact that there are a few accommodations with the kind of view and serenity of this one. It is a small casita for one or two with a view of the Mesilla valley that is awesome. From the porch we watched the shadows turn the mountains purple at sunset. I hiked with my dog in the desert that is easily accessible. I saw jackrabbits everywhere, heard coyotes at night, caught a glimpse of a roadrunner and even saw javelinas from a distance. The casita is very clean and has all we need to be comfortable. The owners are really nice and will accommodate any needs. We plan to return and enjoy this wonderful home again.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Disliked: Communication
Decent views, but disappointing experience
The property was clean, quiet, and mostly private, but I personally would not return. Prior to booking, I had read glowing reviews of the hosts’ hospitality which was why I selected it, but this was not my experience unfortunately. The hosts did not communicate promptly, respectfully, or proactively. There were were several interactions that made us feel unwelcome. In total, I stayed 30 days. After the first two days, they did not communicate with me aside from one weird incident where I was interrupted in the middle of a live work presentation to be scolded that I needed to move my car immediately, because ‘yesterday, the postal service had to maneuver around me.’ This was after I’d already been staying there and parking in that same spot for two weeks.’ No one was there at present and I explained that it was no problem, that I was in the middle of presenting but I would move it as soon as I can, however, she continued to talk over me outside of the front door, repeating and insisting that I walk over to deal with it. My coworker had to put my mic on mute because all of my students could hear her tone and were getting distracted. Five min into the presentation, I was interrupted again by the second host’s phone call regarding the same thing. There were other examples but you get the idea. Also, prepare to either enjoy the gorgeous view from the inside, or buy your own bug spray and use it continuously, otherwise you will get eaten up by gnats.
Quite a find: A quick drive from town/tourism to a tranquil and lush 135-degree city lights view seen from the near-solitude of the spacious covered patio and casita--feel like a baron. Everything one/couple needs for an active or isolated enjoyable and memorable stay; experienced, gracious hosts.
This was the best VRBO we have ever stayed in when it comes to hosts. Dick and Marian were wonderful. Their home is next to the guest Casita but separated by a rock wall and bushes for total privacy. However they are available for anything you need. I was having back and leg problems while I was there. Marian leant me a cane and a massager to help me during my stay! They gave us all kinds of tips on places to see and places to eat. The Casita itself was spotless and had everything you could possibly need. It was small but very comfortable. The view from the living room looked over the valley and the Organ mountains. We sat on the patio and enjoyed some spectacular sunrises and sunsets. It is located in a secluded location but is close to Old Mesilla and Las Cruces. We couldn't have been happier with this VRBO and highly recommend it.
Having sold our home in California, we needed a place to stay until our new home was ready. Dick & Marian’s casita was just enough for the two of us. The views are amazing, Old Mesilla is close by and has lots to see and do, and Dick and Marian were the consummate hosts. They were always responsive, always available if we needed anything, and are truly two of the nicest people we’ve met.
The casita is very comfortable and well-appointed, and has an excellent view. It was wonderful to wake up to the sight of the valley with the mountain in the distance. At night, you look out over the lights of Las Cruces. It is located in an upscale neighborhood of lovely homes, a convenient distance to shopping, restaurants, and hiking (I LOVE Pikachu Peak). The landlords are extremely pleasant and helpful. I would have happily stayed much longer.
It was pure joy to come in to the Casita and feel so at ease. Cozy comfortable, clean, and kitchen fully stocked. Watching the sun sets and sun rise was calming. The owners were so sweet and helpful. More like family than a landlord. What a wonderful time we had. Casita was big enough for the two of us. I would stay again.
We stayed here for a hiking vacation and it was great. The owners were very responsive and helpful. It's in a quiet neighborhood with stunning views of the Rio Grande Valley, Organ Mountains and City of Las Cruces. The casita is well equipped with a lot of storage. A nice sitting area north of the casita provides morning and afternoon relaxation.
A great casita on beautiful grounds with a wonderful view.

Casita in Mesilla
We loved everything about this casita. Especially Dick and Marian. You have wonderful views from your patio and living room windows that over look pecan groves and the Rio Grande river. You also look out to the Organ Mountain range. In the evening as it got darker we watched the lights of Las Cruces come on.
The home is well equipped and very clean. There is lots of storage and a large closet for those who want to stay for longer then the 5 days that we stayed and wished we had stayed longer. We so enjoyed sharing time with Dick, Marian and the cute dogs. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and gardens with us. We had such a relaxing time here.

Peace and Quiet and Views
The location was just outside town yet so convenient to everything you would need. The host, Dick and Marian, were so polite and accomodating with our dog. The casita had a fabulous view of the valley below as well as sunrises and sunsets from the patio....we spent many nights enjoying the view, playing Scrabble and evening a beverage. If you want peace and quiet and gorgeous views, this is the place for you.

Beautful area! Lovely setting! Wonderful hosts!
This is the perfect spot for those who like to be away from it all but close enough! Terrific patio and sitting area with the best views in the area! Hosts were friendly and welcoming and most accommodating but left us to enjoy the space on our own which we most appreciated!

I enjoyed my stay very much. The views of Las Cruces are breath taking and so is the local wildlife. There are quaint local restaurants in Mesilla and the village has local artisans and gift stores. I loved my stay at the Casita and higjly recommend it!
